hi, i'm trying to re due my website using dreamweaver since it got all messed up when i was using front page. I started on the index page and i was wondering if i could copy and paste the code from the index page and use that to make all my other pages. I wanted to do this since the navigation is the same for every page, once i paste the code i can change the bottom parts to correspond with its page. I don't want to mess up my site again so just looking for some insight.

I just noticed that when i try and copy and paste the code the page gets messed up like my site is messed up in my signature, which is how i made the last site that got messed up ( i copied and pasted the index page to make all other pages) since you can't copy and paste the code is there an easier way to do this?

Sure, you can, but there is an easier way. You can make a Dreamweaver template.

Just do this how you started if you are short with time, but after that spare some time to read DW help.

how come when i copy and paste the code the template background looks all gray, i did this with all the pages of marketpost.net that are in my sig. with frontpage after i pasted the code and it looked messed up, i would copy the actual design part of the page and it would look good but when i published it you can see its all fed up. So i don't want to make that mistake again when i redue it in about 10 min. with dreamweaver. is there a technique you use in quickly cloning a page to make another. is there a link directly to the information I'm looking for? i hope i don't sound to confusing and i appreciate any further help!

I think you need to fix your code. When you paste it, go to code view and fix all paths to pictures and css and links and everything else.

If you want to make a web page you have to code. :)

It is ok to copy/paste it, but you have to copy all the other elements of your page, and they have to be correctly referenced.

Go to View > Code and Design. Above should be code view and below you should see design view.

thanks i don't know exactly what you mean, but from your help i can figure it out hopefully. I need to find that link someone gave me in a forum it lead to a site that was like a school for coding, i think i really need to learn as much is i can about html code if i plan on being a Internet marketer and web designer doing my own work. Do you know of a good site that teaches html code and good website coding and design?

Your best bet would be to make a header for the navigation so you don't have to copy and paste that code every time. I'll see if I can find a tutorial on it.

Ya, IL probably end up doing this site the hard way, but ill learn aventualy, this is my first time building with dreamweaver. the sites only about 50-60 pages if it was in the 200-400 i wouldn't dare to it hard way.(hard way being loading up the template as it is for every page linking the nav. on every page,`but other than that not to bad. I've been kinda lazy i need to get marketpost.net up and going!
