I'm going to launch a content building campaign soon that involves trading content for highly-targeted contextual links. The page for it is here: http://www.breezetree.com/flow-charts/submit-flow-charts.htm To save you from clicking, the offer is that the trader will... - download a trial version of my flowcharting software - create a flowchart for a process or topic related to their site - provide feedback on the product (w/ an optional testimonial) - submit it to me If I approve it, they would get to create... - a permanent back link - the anchor text for their back link - the page Title tag - the meta description - the meta keywords - the H1 tag text - a keyword laden paragraph describing the process. (I would retain maintain editorial control of the content.) The listing of sample flowcharts would be linked to from my highest traffic pages. I had planned to offer this as a straight across trade, but looking at the link sales forums, I'm wondering whether this is something I should charge for. Any thoughts or feedback would be welcome. Thanks.
Charging for a link from a website that is not indexed by Google. The concept may be viable if done using a website that has some age & backlinks to it.
prowebpromo, The site is PR4. It's 3 years old. I didn't start doing any SEO until last Fall, so the ranking isn't high, but it's coming up. And per Yahoo I have about 3300 backlinks to the site. But... until last week the pages above weren't crawlable because I hadn't linked to them from any of my pages. I have added a link from my sitemap and when I have a decent body of work I will link to them from my higher traffic pages (I get about 1000 uniques/day). The key thing with this offer is that the link and the surrounding context are customizable by person getting the back link.
