Should I change my URLs to have keywords within them?

    HI,

    Sure you can put keywords. But you just need to take care about the branded keywords otherwise you could be penalized by Google exact match update.

    You can insert keywords in your URLs as long as:

    - They are consistent with the keywords you have used within the page
    - Relevant to the page content
    - Not too long. You do not want really long URLs now do you.

    Make sure you insert the keywords at the start because the search bots gives importance to keywords that appear towards the start and not towards the end.

    The basic thing here is your URLs must be clean and must contain words that helps the user understand the content of your webpage, irrespective of whether they are keywords or not. Having keywords will improve your chances of ranking, provided you keep the three points above in mind.

    Bottom line: Create URLs that make sense to your users and not for search bots.
