Hello, I own www.articlewiz.com and it's based on the article dashboard script. I built it when I was new to internet and webmastering yet the site was kinda a success. The domain is fairly aged now ~1.5 yrs old. Current Domain Info The script is encoded and doesn't have much customization options open and such plain article sites are kinda passe and huge in numbers now. As usual, due to limitations of this script, I couldn't apply my SEO knowledge and 95% pages are in supplemental index now, hence low revenue. I'm planning to convert this into a wordpress based site (highly modded) with google adsense revenue sharing model with authors. I prefer to allow only good authors with original content. I can SEO this to my heart's content and I hope revenue will naturally increase, benefiting both authors and myself. I'd like to know your views, suggestions on this and feedback...how much success can I have if I revamp the site (considering it's already established). I'd like to know about some good ways to market this site after redesign. If possible, please share some clean, fast loading 3 column wordpress themes for the redesign.
I checked the site and for me... the articles were bit hard to read (since they were plain text). The article quality was pretty okay (I checked only a few articles in my area of knowledge), but something bothers me with this... perhaps if the articles are in some sort of database (and not just .htm files) then you (or somebody) could write some script that would simply read the data from the database, and put it to a new wordpress database. That way you could have pretty smooth move. If you'd had to do it manually... then I think getting 16000 articles done is just too big job (if it takes one minute per article to transfer (bearing in mind that you have to pick proper categories, proper writer, copy & paste titles and content), it would take 260 hours to be done with it). Regarding revenue: if you believe that using wordpress will help you get MORE traffic (from search engines etc.), and you can automatize the transfer - then I see no reason why not to do that. 3 column (and 2 column) wordpress themes are most likely easiest to find at: http://themes.wordpress.net/
I suggest you keep on but need to add more essays or articles step bY step. Site is not bad and it can be further developed too.
Thanks for the feedback... GameProducer, yes, it's a DB and with some tweaking, I could move all articles to WP. But I don't want to do that. Cause the articles currently there aren't original and mostly PLR, they have been already submitted to other article directories too and would definitely be put in supplementals even if I move them. What I hate about some article submitters is that they plagiarize content and use too much PLR stuff. That's why I'm thinking to start afresh and membership open to only trusted webmasters from DP. I'm aware of themes.wordpress.net...but was looking for some particular personal recommentation with url.
I see... I'm not sure then what's the problem? Just do it? Okay - well, can't think of any other. Perhaps hire somebody to design a new?
