This is my newly launched social eCommerce site http://www.etoot.com. Most of my site critics says that you have used old school graphics designs that's why most of the users bounce off upon the very first visit. So should I change my site design or make improvement to the very same one in order to keep users engaged rather than to bounce off. Some great opinions needed. And great opinions would be highly appreciated and welcomed! Thanks in anticipation! Regards, etoot.com
Too much going on and its hard to really tell what the site is about, what it is going to do for me and the 'next step' for a visitor. I think you've tried to put too much above the fold, which is really reserved for the call to actions, the things you want the customer to do (i.e. next step). For example, the main welcome text; "Etoot, with a host of features in one simplified platform, Discover, discuss, share, rate and review things you love all in one place…. Etoot.com a simplified platform, designed ready to expand, become a part of it, take Control." Will your visitors care if its a simplified platform with a host of features? The questions they'll be asking are; does this fill a need for me? does this make my life easier? does this do something better than something I'm already using? Similarly, you've repeated yourself on the third line and added text doesn't stimulate me to look deeper (although I may not be your target audience). You're left with the "Discover, discuss, share, rate and review things you love all in one place….". You've nailed it in one tag line. This tells a visitors exactly what the site can do for them and how it helps them, all in one. Great work! Now all you need to do is apply that thought logic - make your points concise, and to the point to reduce clutter. Use white space on the site to give a clean look and don't be afraid to put content below the fold; just make sure it's content that isn't call-to-action stuff. Btw, the scroll for the why, how and what is over kill. Remember; concise. Why concise? Visitors to your site will by virtue of being human will have a limited attention span, which reduces at a rate when the visitor cannot find what they're looking for, or believes the site won't provide the service they're looking for. Being concise will weed out the non-action visitors quicker, and turn those who have a purpose for being there into more engaged visitors. Hope this helps.
It's very important to have an attractive presentation. Free templates are not going to keep your clients inside the website. A good e-commerce design is about $1,500.
Agreed - your site could use a complete overhaul. I actually think sites like Uber and Zendesk have the right idea. Your site could TOTALLY fit this format: https://www.uber.com http://www.zendesk.com Really, a zillion sites are using this kind of design idea. And it works -- there's realy good reason for it. Your site can still look unique and interesting, despite following this tried-and-true format. Plus, it allows you to communicate who and what your brand is using simple imagery, minimal text -- all of which makes it easy for the reader to just look, process, and understand. Hope this helps! Best of luck.
