    Hi mates,

I created a website +2 years ago but I forgot to put the target keyword in my domain name.
Thus, it's really hard for me to be on top 10.

I tried and the best result was rank 8 with my target keyword but it lasted for about weeks and then it dropped again.

Now, I want to buy a domain name with my target keyword included.

is it possible to transfer all "SEO result" to new domain?? for example, PR 4, backlinks.

Or I have to do everything again??

I think you should get the new domain name and set up a 301 redirect from the old domain. You might lose a little juice, but not too much. Then all future link building should be to the new domain name.

well it all depends on what keyword you are targeting and what the old vs new domain would be?

give us a little more info please.

but the simple answer is to buy a new domain....copy everthing over then set-up a 301 redirect

I would recommend you to go for a new domain name as per the keyword you are targetting. Because there are too many complications on redirecting and then some of the urls or backlinks will not give you the required link juice. So whatever you have spent money or worked hard for this 2+ year domain will go all waste. However in these two years, I am sure you must have learned a lot and got quite a good experience for monetizing and SEO for the website. This experience use it for your targetted keyword with a new site. You will definately take less time than what you have spent for your earlier site ;)

I suggest not to change a new domain name. Websites that don't even have their targeted keywords on their URLs still rank high in Google. It really all comes down to the SEO that you put in your website. Starting over is quite a pain in the arse and you'll have to do tons of stuffs again.

    Here's an example: Personalized Gifts

Check on the domains listed below, they don't have the keywords 'Personalized Gifts' on their domain names but they still manage to rank on the first page. Title is another important SEO factor aside from the domain name, so use it very well.

    Don't change the keyword.

Keep building quality back links to your site and you will be able to see your rank increase.

Domain with keyword value only could be 1 in over 200 factors that involves in SERP ranking.

I would suggest you to concentrate more higher priorities algorithms such as optimizing your on site:
    - reduce load time
    - inclusion of unique meta tags for each page
    - not stuffing keywords in meta tags and content section
    - interlinking your internal pages with appropriate keywords anchored and make sure all your internal links are dofollow
    - extend your domain expiry to 5 years or more.

Now, work on building links from quality pages that is:
    - relevant to your niche
    - PR1+
    - low outbound links, usually <30 per page.
    - no links to bad neighborhood sites like gambling, etc.
    - use your targeted keyword as anchored
    - get deep links
    - get contextual links
    - keyword in content, title, description will be greatly helpful
    - and more.

Even if you could build 10 quality back links per month, you will be able to see the difference in your ranking in Google.

Just make sure that you are doing right.
