Should I buy .net domain name

Hey SEO gurus.
I was just wondering, whats the value of a .net domain from SEO point of view?
Does it make any difference in SEO?

For SEO --- not at all. As for domain value, .net's are usually 3-5 times cheaper than the same .com

 

Definately go .com if you can, as .net arent nearly as valuable, although they should be of equal standard in SEO terms..

 

Buy both if you can

 

try to get .com and .net first.
if .com is not available then go for .net
ext not makes any big deal with SEO

 

Yea I'd go with a .COM instead but if you know that you can brand it well and there isn't already another site with the .COM extension, then you can work something out.

Just a note if you plan to receive many returning visitors, then the .COM would work much better with the visitors but you still can do something with a .NET.

 

Some of us love .net the most and would pay more for .net.
All depends on the buyer really, and alot of the times you can get lucky.

.com is really just overrated and all about hype. most of the average visitors don't really care. I know because i quizzed alot of people and they could care less.

The only real argument domainers have is that people usually think .com when going to a site, well that was maybe the case 10 years ago, but now people usually get to sites vita bookmarks and hyperlinks, and also if you promote it well they'll remember the .net anyways.

 

.com over .net anytime, unless it is a good .net and rare name then go for it, but .com are usually the better and more valuable domains.
