yeah, licensing is an issue as well, not sure how all 3 stack up. bans - if you sell a site, the end buyer has to buy bans. and not sure if that's the price for 1 site only. eshopdaddy - I believe is just for a single site.
Formerly eShopDaddy now ezAffiliateWebsiteBuilder. You can build as many websites as you want. You can re-sell those websites if you want without buying another license.
I'd recommend you have them buy a copy through your affiliate link just so you make more money... Just my 2 cents.
You can build as many BAN sites as you want with the one license. Being an eBay affiliate means joining through CJ. But don't forget there are other affiliates that you can join through CJ, also. eBay is great, but there are many money making affiliates out there that might match your niche(s). So think of joining CJ not just for eBay, but all the other possible assets to monetize particular pages or sites. Sometimes in the middle of your content, there is a place to put an affiliate link - CJ to the rescue... (or linkshare or sharesale, or an independent). Regards selling a site, just be upfront about the BANS license, if it is a good site it will sell at the price you want it to. Whether you get ezAffiliateWebsiteBuilder or BANS or just use the tools at the eBay affiliate page, it is up to you. I like BANS myself, and I also use the eBay affiliate tools for certain pages, but when it comes to spending money, well, research and reviewing never hurt...
thx for the great tips. I'm on CJ another important factor is the eye candy factor. in the list of the 3 possible bans products; which are the most visually appealing, easily customized, include templates, and is updated routinely... I've not made a decision yet, but the ebay affiliate tools themselves are better than I thought. I might save my money and DIY
Is the BANS ebay feed only filtered by category or can you choose specific keywords? I hope that makes sense..
You pick a category for the overall store (or multiple categories). Then each page has an associated search query that you create. IMHO, this is one of the most important parts of having a profitable BANS site. Good search queries will get rid of the crap and leave only the items the buyer is looking for.
You can choose keywords. There's a lot you can do with it actually if you are a little creative I'm working on modding my BANS to let me do some things, and my only commentary as far as the code goes is there is a fair amount of code smell, like stuff that is reminiscent of dailywtf.com ;-) but it works so it shouldn't matter to most people what's under the hood. I have a pretty good idea why the shops hardly run on GoDaddy now though.
I also want to buy it, so I will look to your blog and see your experience, but from what I've read here or anywhere else, it seems everyone makes his money back.
I have actually made my money back by people buying through my affiliate link... I havnt done enough promotion to get traffic to convert to sales yet on my BANS sites... waiting for holidays to start promoting.
I made back the price of the BANS script from one of my stores in a couple of days with minimal promotion.
Yes, and I want more!! Currently I am adding content pages and working on SEOing all the catagory and keywords pages I have added. Next, I will add a BANS store to other niche sites I have which have a lot of keyword/auction item potential.
