Should I be using an affiliate program?

    I've heard a lot of good things about clickbank, and am wondering if I would be able to make more promoting a related product than with adsense. I currently run a style of 'free' video site and I want to try promoting a satellite TV package...do you think this would work well?

    Yes, you can try adwords and bidvertiser. I think this will give you some help on traffic.

    So should I increase my traffic before giving it a shot or do you think I should just try it now?

    Try to get more traffic first. It's a big advantage if you have a lot of traffic.

    Depends a lot on where your traffic comes from and what they're looking for. If CB has something that they're looking for, it could work. When in doubt, test it and see! :)

    Hi Eug, Seen your site in your sig and guess what popped up?
    A clickbank affiliate popup for an ipod site
    paypopup is paying you 1.80 for 1000 pops, how much better would this be if they were all your popups for clickbank products? I'm guessing you could make alot more in the long run if you start using your own pops with your affiliate links in them rather then paypopups

    Also add some tracking so you can see where your traffic comes from , i can not post links yet, but visit statcounter with a dot com at the end and they can provide you with a decent free stat counter

    Good luck

    Thanks for all the advice =]
    I think I will post a link on my home page and see what happens, if that doesn't work I'll give the pop-up idea a shot..
    Do you guys not think that 1k visitors daily is enough to make some sales though?

    You make more selling the product then people pay for the ads on your site. If you find something related to topic you can make alot more than adsense

    No you don't need a bunch of traffic..

    You need "targeted consumers" and less advice from wanna be gurus

    AffiliateClickbank

    62 - Clicks (AKA Targeted Consumers / Visitors)

    29,970 impressions

    0.20% CTR

    $0.41 CPC

    $25.46 Cost

    3.23% Conversion Rate

    $12.73 Cost Per Conversion

    2 Conversions

    ===============================

    Clickbank Revenue

    Mon Apr 28 $73.90

    So $73.90 Earnings

    - $25.46 Ad spend

    ==========================

    $48.44 Profit

    / 73.90

    --------------------------

    ROI = 65.54%

    I'll do this all day long and twice as much on days that end in Y.

    :D

    From personal experience I agree with the majority, you need the traffic first before anything else :)
