Hey all, I have to submit my University applications on sometime this week. I have a couple questions. Anyone heard of University of Waterloo, or University of Toronto? If so which one would you recommend? Which one is more popular? I love computers, programming and marketing? What should I apply for in the Universities? What are you currently in? How is the workload? Any secrets you want to share in your success? Should I apply to Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science? Can you guide me in write my ATF, or University Application, if I pay you? What should I be worried about? I don't know what was your experience like applying to University? How is a webmasters life? How did you get to where you were? What other future plans do you have? Please pm me if you don't feel like posting personal information. Regards,
Apply to both, and more if you can. Take your time and decide, it's an important decision. Make sure you finish.
Yes, I have heard of those universities. University of Toronto is a very big school, and is highly regarded for professional schools (like Medicine and Business after you finish your first degree). I don't know very much about University of Value. I applied to a science undergraduate program in York and UofT three years ago, and was accepted to both, but I ended up going to the University of Alberta in Edmonton, my home town. I would have liked to have been to Toronto and I might switch schools. IIRC, the OSAP (Ontario application) process was easy -you just have to fill a form with personal information and mail your high school transcript- but cost $100 per school. The workload in university is quite intense, you definitely have to keep on schedule. The most important advice I have is to apply for a lot of entrance scholarships early, and to not play World of Warcraft in university (that led to my downfall). My favourite resource is the forums at studentawards.com; their is a wealth of information comparing schools and explaining the application process/financing/scholarships etc. Right now, I am trying to learn Ruby on Rails and become a web programmer.
I dont know anything about signing up for university... I signed up for college as it is alot more hands on, and i tend to not pay attention if someone talking for 20+ minutes.
I am also planning to apply to U of Alberta as my back up plan, I heard the engineering program is getting really good. I was looking though studentawards.com but couldn't find anything that is related to engineering, extra curricular, and what I am good at. Could you send me some examples of what scholarships you apply to? Thanks,
