Hello, Everyone... I just had a quick question regarding some purchases I made here at DP. First, I should explain that I have kind of a unique situation. I'm not trying to get hits to my own website, I'm an indie filmmaker, and I'm trying to drive views to a video contest entry I have over at MySpace. On Friday, I paid for 40000 MySpace bulletins. On Saturday morning I bought more bulletins from another vendor. So far, I haven't heard anything from either of them. Yesterday, I bought 70000 more, but that man did say he's usually not on until later in the evening, so I expect to hear from him tonight. Earlier today, I also paid for a sticky posting on someone's teen forums. That was only a few hours ago. My problem is, the contest is only open for voting until Friday. I was hoping to see what the results were like for these advertising campaigns so I could decide if I needed to get more before the deadline. Now, I'm getting concerned. I just wanted to know - mainly in regards to the first two purchases I made - is this typical turn around time? I hate to spend even more money without having seen what the results will be like from these, but the clock is ticking on me. I did make contact via PM with each seller before purchasing. Should I be worried? Any input or advice would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks! -Rusty-
Depends who you purchased off of. If they had good Itrader then I think you will be fine. I mean 40000+70000 myspace bullitins is a lot, could take some time for those people to post that many. They really should contact you with results after it's done. Although myspace bullitins won't give any results, you would have to look at the statistics of your site to see how many of the hits came from myspace bullitins. What contest was it you posted about? Just cause I might be interested. Edit: By looking at your posts, this is the only one I would be worried about. Maybe this one too. But the rest seem like decent people who will stick to their word. ps sorry I missunderstood about the bullitins, it was to 40000 people and 70000 people, not that many bullitins, I understand now.
Thanks for the input, Spikes. MySpace is running a contest in conjunction with the Fox Network, looking for a TV series idea. The grand prize includes a development deal, which is unspeakably HUGE to me! Unfortunately, the first round of the contest is undermined by those with large MySpace followings making the rounds, giving "Thumbs Down" ratings to strong competitors to bolster their own chances. I've been trying to simply get hits to my video with a "Thumbs Up", hopefully in large enough numbers to counteract those who don't play so fairly. I don't have a lot of MySpace "Friends," so I came here looking for ways to rally some troops on my behalf. If you want to check it out, my video is HERE. (If you do, PLEASE hook me up with a "Booyah! Thumbs Up) Edit: Yea, i'm a bit concerned about that first one myself. The second one I did business with some time ago on another issue, so that won't be a factor. If the first one does turn out to be no good, I'll post about it so hopefully no one else gets hit.
I'll "booyah" it for you. Post a few bullitins myself, see if I can get anyone else to. No worries, i'll do it for free, i'm feeling nice today Edit: I've thumbs up it with a few accounts (yes I have more than one). Commented on it with my main account too.
