should i be buying sitewide links or just homepage links?

For traffic: I agree. For SEO: some links are better than others. The one type of link that hasn't been mentioned here that is very important: links in articles. They are often more targeted then homepage links. They are also less likely to be flagged as 'bought'.

 

No. My example is only shows that I've used 3 years old domain for this example. Period.

The topicstarter told nothing about the age of his domain. If you suppose that new domains can not utilize sitewide links value, we need to test it. That's it

About two month ago I discussed with a chief of Google Russia. I've never heard so many BS before. After I showed him counter-evidences, our talk was terminated and the only phrase he repeated (as a prayer) was "I can not talk about it. I can not talk about it. I can not talk about it." So I think all Google's employees have this occupational disease.

If you don't like to test but only introspect, you had to be philosophy teacher I am a computer engeneer, so the only things I beleive in for sure is in what I can test myself.

 

Yeppir - Google's "I cannot talk about it - etc." reminds me of US Air Force pilots who have seen UFO's.... they are sworn to secrecy

Anyways I bought a few sitewides but as a result of the info in this thread I believe I will stick with homepages for a while
