Hello , I own a domain (lyricsera.com), registered almost 2 years ago. Today I received an email from a company in China that says: Dear sir, We are Shanghai IDC Co., Ltd, a domain name register organization in China. We have something urgent need to confirm with your company. Because we formally received an application from a company named Sai Bo (China) Investment company. They are applying to register and so on as internet brand name\"lyricsera\"and CN domain name\"lyricsera.cn /.com.cn /.net.cn /.org.cn\" through us.Now we are in charge of this matter .In order to keep other party from using these domain names, hope to get your confirmation about these domain names’registration asap. Please let someone in your company who is responsible for information management contact us as soon as possible. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Karl Tel: +86(021)51750xxx Fax: +86(021)51750xxx Email:Karl.kang@govidc.com.cn Web: www.govidc.org.cn Shanghai IDC Co., Ltd Room A601, Block 2,ShanghaiWithub White-cat Science Park No.641 TianshanRoad ,Shanghai,China 2007-09-20 PS: there was no "xxx" at phone number and fax, only I don't think it's good to post it.
In otherwords, a company in China wants to buy lyricsera.com.cn, and they want to know whether you have rights to the domain, and whether you wish to register it. Reply saying you "own rights to the domain, but i don't wish to buy the domain name, because i am not based in china, only america". DONT contact them yet, Someone else please clarify what i am saying. I am not 100% sure i am correct. Rob
It could, although I have not heard anything about it.. But I am Cynical.. Be spam from a Chinese registrar (US Registrars were famous for it).. They could be sending those out in bulk hoping to get 4 new registrations from you with the "other company" being completely Fictitious. If it were me I wouldn't register it (unless I was interested in the long term Chinese market and I knew what possible meanings lyricsera had in Chinese. And hope someone in China Registers the .CNs and has massive traffic that overflows to you via typos. -Jason
