Should I Avoid Intel E-Series Processors?

    Hi!

I was looking at new computers, and have found some decent deals on computers with E-xxxx dual core processors (around 2.5-3.0Ghz) but thought I'd read somewhere that you should avoid E-Series processors by Intel as they were the 'bog-standard' version.

What do people think about this?

And, is it worth upgrading to a Q-Series Quadcore Processor?

    Finally... How much RAM? 2Gb, 3Gb, 4Gb?

    Cheers,

    Will

Why would you avoid E series cpus?? Great value! And very robust!

Check out my build with an Intel E6550.

I don't know where I got it from, I think I just read it somewhere... So what spec should I look at to have a quite nicely fast machine?

I would go with Quad core, you'll get everything you desire out of it.
