should I add an article directory to my site?

I run a history forum, and am contemplating the idea of adding an article directory as well. The main reason would be to draw traffic to my site, then second reason would be to provide something extra for the members. It would only include history related articles.

If this is a solid idea, what script should I use? Preferably free.. and would I have to manually submit articles to my directory and can I import a bunch of history articles from somewhere?

    Site is in my sig.

There are article directory scripts out there, but off hand I can think of any to recommend. However, I would suggest setting up a subdomain for the directory so that google doesn't consider your site devalued because of possible duplicate content from the articles that you offer.

I can recommend ArticleScript from David Duval (owner of phpLD). Very user friendly and easy to customize to blend into existing design of your site. The cost is only $10. You will have to manually enter categories and articles.

it still look similar with other article dashboard site, with menu on the right and category map on centre. But if you looks at my site http://www.featured-articles.com/ nobody can tell it is an articleMS because it looks different from their demo and other articleMS site. You can easily customize the template from admin panel and the template is save in database.
