This is a tough one...I just voted in favour of government regulation in the search engine industry, but am having second thoughts. While I appreciate governments can make things complicated, some sort of agency might need to keep powerful companies like Google 'in check'.
Keep the government out of it altogether! If Google starts messing around, it'll lose its following and be left in the dust. Don't let government mess with it at all.
Search is a World Wide instrument, what government do you propose has a fundamental say in search, USA? No thanks. The userbase can keep Google on track, if Google gets completely "out of check" then the masses stop using them and they fold. It's self regulating really.
First taxes out of our paychecks... now taxes to search a search engine (its the way the government works.) God please let this be a joke
If you let any government regulate the internet in anyway, they will apply a tax to it. As for the government regulating the search engine industry, Google is already doing that and in fact doing a better job of it. The real question that should be asked is "Who gave Google the right to index the world for profit in the first place?" Isn't this a violation of our Copyright?
as i know know , goverment has forced google to share some secret informations about the search results but google has rejected it
