paypal is owned by ebay. So they would technically have to buy that first.

Plus they already have google checkout going.

They had google video yet they bought Youtube. I don't know if they will but i guess i wouldn't like them to. Google surrounds everywhere too much already.

I don't think this will happen google already got a rival to paypal (google checkout)
I think what's possible is that google may buy one of the giant company that are competing against paypal like moneybookers or e-gold
to get a better chance in facing paypal

lol if they buy mb they can buy gamebookers too, and then we can bet on who they'll buy next on their own website.

Google would need to buy ebay too if they bought paypal. But I don't think they should.

Ebay may spin off Paypal and Skype when their new CEO takes over, the idea behind being spinning those properties off is that they would create value on their own rather then being attached with Ebay. So in the future google may have a chance at Paypal. The question would Ebay Sell Paypal to one of its main competitors and I don't think they would.

They bought them about little over a year ago for way too much like $1.4 billion. People are saying that Skype would be more valuable for a company like Myspace or Facebook then to Ebay.

They never will sell paypal. Ebay wants control over all the money so google would have to buy both and i do not see that happening anytime soon.

That would be an overall bad decision on eBay's side if they ever decided to sell PayPal. It's the most widely used option for most payments. It just wouldn't really fit with Google.

I'd love them to buy PayPal.

Even more if they bought the messy eBay.
