Should Germany eternally feel guilt for Jews ?

    Yeah, that's pretty clear.

    Anyway, I think a holocaust memorial is a good thing. I'm all for a memorial to all the people put to the Nazi knife.

    No, I don't think modern Germans have a thing to feel guilty about. But I think no nation is served by seeking to blot out parts of its past that are ugly, and that includes my own. It is a reminder to us all.

    If the Germans want to build it then why not? It's a lot better than die mauer -- the wall -- and there's no East German soilders pointing guns at you.
