I noticed that so many people want a listing on the DMOZ directory, would you still want a listing if it used nofollow links? and if it was nofollow links do you think it would impact the DMOZ Directory in any way?

    I would still submit.

It would not change, most editors (according to the ones here) do not use the queue, and find sites through other means. So webmasters not submitting to it would not make a difference.

Alternatively, it would slow down a bit, and likely truly wed out those editors that are there just to list their own sites. It would also weed out many of the editors in it for the money....but I do think that both types of editors are in the minority (but certainly exist).

DMOZ and any other site can use nofollow but Google will still index and evaluate and use links covered by the nofollow. It can honor the nofollow and not pass link juice but it will still utilize the link in its evaluation. I always assume Google knows just about everything we do and factors it into its algorithm.

Besides, nofollow was put in place to devalue spam links not evaluated and approved links.

It will impact the DMOZ as directory but it will even have a worser impact on DMOZ senior editors income and soon they will lose 90% of their Meta and Admins. :D

If you have any justifications for what you say, send it to us to have this thread open, otherwise I don't think such accusations against DMOZ senior editors are appropriate in a public forum as this. Thread closed until otherwise.
