Not exactly. You see, our news agencies are independent of the govt. so the news put out by the New York times doesn't come from "my agencies". Granted, I take what the New York times has to say with a grain of salt as well and weigh it against the facts on hand.

I noticed you still didn't present the vital missing piece of information left out of your Paki Examiner article. Who benefits? The entire premise of the accusations made in that article is ludicrous, outside of the fact they distract from the ISI's involvement in terrorist activities.

Sorry, couldn't get past the first 15 seconds. Its more of a snuff film than a documentary, and I cant waste my time polluting my brain with idiocy (I already watch enough MSNBC and FOX get my daily quota of bullshit). Do you really think a video clip like that has anything educational to offer?

If you want to compare the activities of intelligence agencies, I'm sure the torture committed on a daily basis by any of your Pakistani police stations outdoes the most atrocious acts committed by any member of the CIA this year. Thats without even mentioning the ISI.

I believe it was you who posted this link where a Pakistani man claims to be dragged from his house by your intelligence service and forced to swallow poison.

Kamal Hyder, Al Jazeera's correspondent in Peshawar, said the families' lawyer had claimed they were forced to sign the agreement over the blood money, but none of the family members have spoken out so far.

"We were put in detention for four hours and not allowed to meet our clients who were called by authorities to the court," Asad Manzoor Butt, a lawyer for the family of one of victims told Reuters.

And from your previously linked article in the NY Times:
Mr. Butt sounds a bit like our Gloria Alred. I also have to appreciate the yellow journalism by Al Jazeera, which would lead one to believe the families were put into detention for four hours. The reality is, it was this political activist volunteer attorney representing certain religious groups who was trying to block the blood money provision of Pakistani law. Aka Mr. Butt (nice name).

[Edit] Oops. Almost forgot to include the photo from your link on this post, showing a little demonstration by the people Mr. Butt actually represents (Jamaat-e-Islami, not the families of the dead):

I'm sure he was treated nicely. Political hot potato. Had he been an average Pakistani charged with a lesser crime, I'm sure the hammers and fingernail extractors would have been out. Of course this is based on the information coming out of all the human rights organizations, so I'm not sure how reliable it is .

Revised: Should Americans get away with murder on foreign soil ?

I also don't see US friends cheering alongside or even congrats to job well done. I'm not a fan of OBL either but just curious why ?

    Hah that's a good one :D

Just because government officials don't sit directly in the media or openly dictate to it, does not mean they're independent.
