Should all my pages follow the same keyword

If I am making a small website

    For example: on cars
My keyword for my homepage is 'fast cars'
Should I focus on this keyword for all pages or for example if I have an article on subcategory eg 'ford' should I focus on the keyword 'ford' for that particular page.

I hope that my question isn't too confusing. :)

No, it would be best to use unique keywords for different pages, otherwise they will all be diluted in value and rank for nothing.

NO, it is not necessary to target same keywords for whole site. you can categorized keywords for each page and target group of keywords per page. for example your are having car site now you can create following pages..

    1) ford-car
    keywords:
    ford car online
    drive ford car
    ford car accessories

    2) toyota-car
    keywords:
    Toyota car online
    Toyota car accessories

you can target keywords in this way..

i hope it is clear now

    all the best

    Yep, they're right! :)
You can even optimize each pages using different meta titles/descriptions other than the keywords only.
