    Thanks, Webwowster

I really appreciate your feedback. Makes total sense what you're saying about Ezine's advice -- great for them, not so good for me. Looks like my weekend will be spent undoing the damage.

    Thanks again.

    Sorry -- One more question.

Would there be any benefit or downside to just linking back to the article from somewhere in my website? In other words, does it hurt to have an incoming link and then an outgoing link back to the same site?

    Thanks

Sorry I wouldn't know the right answer to that, still fairly new to all this myself.

I wouldn't worry too much about the articles on your site if they only make up a small amount of your content. Maybe instead of spending all that time taking them down, you could spend it adding some more unique articles. That way the percentage of non unique content would be lower anyway. And as far as I know, the more quality content on your site the better. If I add several articles in one day, I always notice a boost in traffic.

Hope that helps a little :)

There is no rule that says what percentage of your site should be unique. Sites that are all duplicate content can rank just fine, it's just harder to make them rank. Since the content itself is likely flagged by Google as duplicate, the ranking factors that are content-based that Google's ranking algorithm looks at are likely devalued significantly on for the URL that contains the duplicate content. This just means you have to increase your overall ranking score by working harder at other ranking factors. Typically this means you will need more backlinks than the original copy of the content would need to rank. So duplicate content can definitely out rank original content by doing a better job at link development.

I'm not sure why the originator of the content would be linking to your site from their content in the first place... Are these articles they you wrote and posted both on your site and submission sites? I would avoid doing this if possible. Have two versions of the article about the same topic, but totally different if you want to submit one copy to a submission site and post another copy on your own site.

then, back to the first question, bounce rate..

your traffic is excellent. but it could be something that people decide to leave a little bit earlier because maybe you have done some good SEO work, but not in the targeted niche..

AW stats shows you physical traffic more. but Google analytics is not about web-traffic, it's about human trends.. many people misunderstood that.. you can analyze your traffic incoming by using google analytics more efficient than ever. AW stats is good for the traffic comparison.

    hope that helps
