Should a non-english 4PR website do link exchange with all websites?

    Hey guys,

I own a 4 PR website in Persian language.

Now I would like to create a link exchange section in my website for link development.

I have some questions on this issue:

1- should I accept links from all international websites or just persian websites?
2- If I use persian title maybe international websites are not interested to do link exchange with me. How every most of Iranian websites have lower page rank, so is it a good idea to focus on accepting links from all international websites?
3- should I accept links from any website with any PR? or the PR less than 3-4 can harm my rank which is already 4 ?

    thanks,

Focus the most on same-language websites, then websites that have similar languages within your niche (if it applies, for Iran, examples would be Luri, Gilaki and Mazandarani according to Wikipedia), and sites in other language that have a high content relevancy to your website.

Getting a link from a PR 0 website doesn't bring down your PR 4. Links provide an additive value to PR. You don't see a loss of PR because you have xx links that are from websites ranked lower than yours.

Good to know that you are starting link exchange section in your site, which many are not doing nowadays because of spamming etc. Language doesn't matter, quality/relevancy link matters, you can go ahead and get links from all sites relevant to your niche irrespective of language.

As far as link exchange, yes, many are not interested in link exchange not just Persian language but any language which they are not familiar with, but Google Translate plays an important role here. Nowadays many use Google Translator to check whether the website is related to their niche or not in their own language, if so they exchange links.

I would advice you to get reciprocal links from high PR sites and don't forget to check those reciprocal links, there might be spammy, bad neighborhood sites, which can really impact your PR.

if the content is related, i think it is ok to exchange links. google can detect different languages easily.

Focus on linking to the same languages. I had to find out the hard way. I linked to other languages and it caused my ranking to drop.

i dont believe links form other language sites can make your rankings drop. It looks perfectly natural to get some links from other countries and other languages. This is an international world and the internet brings any country in my office. As a business it is perfectly normal to relate to other businesses in other countries. That´s the way you have to look at it. just dont overdo it.
Make it look natural! Getting 80% of your links from bangladesh if you are a small business in mexico just does not look right!
