My directory wants visitors to register to submit links but it does not take too long just your email id and password . registration is useful for editing your links later. So i think directories with many features like favourite, comments, ratings need to have registeration.

    agreed.

i still do register for some, but for the most part, i just pass.

Also, i have noticed after registering, that i have been seeing unwarranted emails to my account. that really pisses me off. (now you know why I am green in my avatar :p)

I don't think it is necessary to have a registration for a directory.
And it takes so much time.

Registration before submission of a site is good.

A directory, with Simple design and quick submission procedure will be considered better.

I don't like registration. It means yet another username/password combination to remember, and more often than not the directory itself is gone, or has removed its free listings options, before I actually need to make any changes to my listing.

Maybe registration can cut down on spammy submissions, but it could also slow down those people who would be submitting listable sites. It's definitely not worth having registration in the early stages.

I hate logins for directories, they are a complete waste of my time and will not spend the time to do it unless it is a extremely high ranking site.

All I have to say is that if someone doesn't want to take the time to register, I'm not going to take the time to review their listing. You've gotta take and give in this world... there is a price attached to everything ... including a FREE listing!

Your email is safe with me, i hate spam and i'm the type who don't like to use the word "hate" So far i have only emailed one person about it's submission to placed it in the right category, i din't get a response so i deleted it.

I think if the registration is simple i think it would be worth it, image verification that is hard to read is another thing. After the 4th tries i'm gone.:D But from now on, if the image verification is hard to read then i will bypass it.
