I can do it, but if you just use joomla's internal SEFUs it's could be as simple as changing a setting in the control panel.
If you want to install/setup an extension that could be more complicated.

PM me if you rather I do it.

Where can i change joomla's internal sefu's? I went to joomla back end - virtuemart - product list - product and I can't find where I can create a url for this product? I add something in the "URL" box but it doesn't change anything. Could you tell me step by step how to change the url?

If it would be more difficult than this i'll probably have you just do it for me.

Login, Go to Site >Global Configuration > right hand side SEO Settings
    Search Engine Friendly URLs

Click Save, go look at the URLs on the site. They should be shortened to something like : index.php/2-uncategorised/1-shazam

I went there and all 3 options in SEO settings were already checked "Yes". Yet the problem is still there?

Is there another solution? Or do you think i'll have to install an extension?

you might have to rename htaccess.txt to .htaccess . if you want better control over the URLs generated an extension is ideal.

Can't do it from the joomla admin. Have to login via FTP. htaccess.txt should be in the directory joomla's installed. right click it, rename > .htaccess (the . is important)

yes Sh404 is the best, because you can edit the urls to whatever custom words you want.
