Many people ask, all the time "where/how to find good backlinks?" In times of extremely fast "produced" updates of "Panda" algorithms, for beginners looks harder and harder to get good back links. Even for more experienced webmasters that becomes like mission impossible. But...If you ask me, actually nothing changed essentially in past 10 years, quality content (aka: new value) + strategic link building always give results. Some things are new, and some other forgotten are again actual again and so on. So I will try to help to all newbies with very simple, white hat, natural techniques to build links and traffic. Targeted traffic always can be monetized so we can say I will try to help you in making money. Here I will describe what I am doing for my own sites, step by step, if I see your interesting i will write another 4 parts (I would split this in 5 parts of shorten quality link building school) First time you need to have is -> patience. Nothing happens over night. Also, never "wait" to see results. Do what you need to do, and proceed to next step, not wait to see results from "step 1" because in that manner you will never see them. So lets go, first you will do simpler things and then in each new step just a but more complicated, at the end, last step, you will already see a lot results from previous 4. LINK BUILDING, PART 1 When you established new web site, in niche, or general, or forum, or anything else, new SaS, App, whatever, checked all content, checked all tech details, etc, try to think about it, ask your self, what is ACTUALLY about, how I will describe my new site in 3 words. When you have that "3 word" description, you are very close to "essence" of your site, keep that in mind, that is something like your "niche" or part of market where you will try to find your audience. First thing that you will do is old-school submiting to DMOZ.org. Manny people says it doesn't matter any more, dmoz is dead and similar thing, but please trust me and do that , it will take you 3 minutes to submit your site and about months to be approved, so you can't loose anything. Why dmoz? Well, to avoid tech details, like that thousands of old and new site dirs pull data from dmoz and build links to your site on that way, that that like small "test". If dmoz admin thing your site is OK to add it to dmoz dir, that it is very good starting point. Second action, until you wait to be approved in dmoz (this is joke of course about waiting ) go to: http://www.web-directories.ws/General/Free/ This is another old-school and excellent for start technique: free directories submission. Don't thing about outscoring this task! Do you thing that person who submit your site for $20 or something to 1000 dirs care about your site? Do you think that "effort" invested in this will have any results? Save money and time and believe me: it will be wasting of time to outsource or use software for auto submits. It is best to add only 3 or 5 daily submission, but taking care that dirs that you are picking are high pr, not spammed, and tht other say something nice about them. When you are making your site submissions, pay attention to write everytime a bit different description of your site but always using those 3 (or few words) which are "essence" of what your site is. This is very important, if you are lazy: It is better to make 2 good submissions every day, than 100 copy/pasted or 1.000 auto-submitted or outsourced. Don't ask why, if you don't release yourself why. Simply think on this way: if 10.000 people use auto software and submit their 10.000 sites to 10.000 directories on auto pilot, which of those sites and dirs have some value? In eyes of Google and other search engines they are all same = low quality. This part 1, is just nice start, where we are testing new site, and starting with nice low quality but NOT spam links. This is very important, you can't build just A-grade links from start, G doesn't like that, G like to see that your site has "natural attention growing" , but we will more talk about that in some of next posts.
