Short domain names... why?

    Qwest has q.com...

    What is the point, aside from bragging rights? This, to me, seems like a total waste of their budget. Can anyone shed some logic on this trend for me?

    Well as the previous two posts above me have stated it's alot easier to rember and people won't miss-spell etc.

    - easier to remember
    - no typo errors..
    - highly valuable..wil earn you great money if you wanna see

    same as above its all about branding ,short name domain ,easy to remember and when it is verb.like love and sex,that is Brandable

    buddy, it's good from SEO point of view. also it is said that google loves domain names of reasonable size.

    Its depend on the people.
    For me the short domain name is awesome coz it represent status and it make my visitor to easily remember my URL
