My client has successfully 301 redirected old domain to new domain. Its currently only for the home page, means if I type the old site home page or old site inner page in the browser, its only redirected to new site home page. I found out a way to redirect inner site pages to their counterparts in the new site pages. In IIS, in the redirect to text box, if I add : http://www.newsite.com$V [ Appending $V at the end] instead of the current http://www.newsite.com it will automatically redirect inner site pages to new inner site specific page. For e.g., old site contact us page will redirect to new site contact us page and not home page. If anybody has used it before, can they confirm if this is the right thing to do. OR else all old site inner pages can be redirected to specific inner pages of the new site through IIS, the same process as for the home page [choosing permanent redirection ]. Which of the following would you recommend and why ? As from what I know, former process is far more efficient and it will save time and the later process I mentioned will take long time. All answers are greatly appreciated. Thanks
