So, in my further exploits as Marketing Manager/SEO head for an Online Pharmacy, I get a lot of phone calls from various types of salespeople, and I'd say about 98% are hucksters selling spyware, the other 2% are trying to take over my job by offering SEO Services. Today I get a call from "Internet Services" or some other horrible name. The conversation goes thusly: Idiot: Is this (name)? Me: Yes, I hear you're from Internet Services, what can I do for you? Idiot: I saw your website, (URL), and I noticed that you are severely lacking in some very important INTERNET COMMUNICATION CODES that may prevent visitors from finding your website on the search engines Me: (in utter disbelief) No, our SEO efforts are rather successful. Not Interested. Bye. (hangs up) "Internet communication codes"? How stupid do they think we marketing types are?
Love those guys. They are so caring and selfless. I'm sure he really wanted to "Help You" and you company with his "Innovative" product. ...Don't get me started on this guy's direct mail counterparts.
Comments like that make you feel as snarlie as I feel when I am told lady your car is not running properly for its engine is missing, wouldn't you like me to put in a new one for you.
I had a call today and the guy was being very mysterious. If you answer the phones from enough people you can tell a buyer from a lookie-loo immediately. He called and asked "I got your phone number from someone who said you work with small businesses" I said, no we are a retail business. He said, "what kind of business do you have?" So at this point, I am wondering what he is selling, so I ask, What is this call in regards too, are you interested in purchasing something? He says, I just wanna know what kind of business this is. I say Retail. He says, What kind of retail. I say Home & Garden, can I help you? He says, I'm just curious what type of business this is. And hangs up. Tortured reading that? Imagining having to live that conversation LOL
