Short Anchor Text vs. Long Anchor Text ?

Ok, say Im looking to rank high for 2 keywords:

Boston Trains

Boston Buses



Am I better off making tons of anchor links for "Boston Trains" and "Boston Buses"


Or, would "Boston Buses & Trains" be best?


Also -- if you have any proof or experience with this please post!!!

 

If you focus on just one or 2 anchor texts and get tons of them it might look funny. You can mix it up a bit with variations, maybe new england trains etc

 

I think long is good.

 

it depends it what you want to achieve, for signups and conversions or CPA you really want that searchers are really looking for that specific services or product thus the long tail ones is a must. In the other hand for advertising or ads you might get what ever traffic there is available thus the power keywords ones is fit for this.

Mix them..use some boston trains, boston buses, and some anchor texts as boston trains and buses in boston, etc.
