That's very cool James! Another thing, is there a way to test the whole checkout process? A demo transaction of some kind?

Is this still open in Beta?

I'm more than happy to give it a go, but not keen on the $400 outlay so close to christmas..

I just signed up so you should be fine.

Also - I dont know if the $400 is such a good idea to implement james. You could very well turn away people who could end up bringing big sales in to you. I know that I wouldnt be interested no matter how good the system is, if there was a $400 fee for me to sell stuff for you.

    Hi Guys,

Glad so many of you are getting involved with this one and that James is here to answer all the questions for you.

This is a unique and different type of affiliate program - sort of a combo between affiliate program, a drop shipping program a private label program and a full on ecomm site of your own - in a way. Hence there probably will be a charge but I'm not privy to the details of when and how much.

So I would suggest getting in now if you are interested while the free beta is still on.

I also wanted to say that James is a GREAT example of the type of support that AMWSO gives affiliates on all 20 of their affiliate programs. Plus they have some great new programs coming in January.

You can check out all their programs here:
http://www.amwso.com/our_client.php These are all FREE. ;-)

    Merry Christmas Everyone!

Ive been messing around with shopster and here are some thing I noticed.

-All of the DVD's are thrown into one general catagory. Ideally these should be split off into different genres. Its going to be such a pain for each one of us to manually decide which genre each movie belongs in. The same goes for Movie Memorabilia posters. I think anytime that you have a category with 25,000 items then it needs to be sorted and split somehow. (CD's has 170,000 unsorted)

By loading 50 items at a time, I will have to do it nearly 7,000 times just for your books category.

    Hi guys,

Sorry I've been so slow in posting a reply, been away for Christmas! Nice to get away from my computer for a few days...

Joch21: We will not charge the $400 until we are out of beta, which will probably be another 3-6 months. As mentioned previously, anyone who joins now through AMWSO will never have to pay a dime to use Shopster. This is set in stone.

The category listings are being worked on...This area will be much improved over the forthcoming months...There's so much stuff in the system it's a nightmare to categorize it all, but i assure you we're working hard on this.

Kniveswood: The best way for you to test the system is for you to do a test transaction for a low value item...We can then cancel the transaction later on...Please do give me notice on this though so i can arrange things with Michael and the guys at Shopster!

Linda: Thanks for the big up again! And i hope you had a great birthday. Been meaning to post in your forum for a while, but what with Christmas etc things have been crazy at the AMWSO office.

CrazyBoy: Great to have you on board. Anything you need give me a shout.

PLEASE NOTE: For all who have signed up we can design a template for you to match your main site...Or design you a totally new template if you wish. We have a designer dedicated to the Shopster project and he's REALLY good. Make use of this great free service.

One last thing...Sunchy and Joch 21...try out the new product search function. It's way improved and this'll help you find the products you're after much quicker...

    Hi all,

Just got back from the best Christmas of my entire life. (In case you don't know - a grand baby's 1st Christimas is a miraculous thing for a Grandma to go through!) :D Hope you all had a wonderful holiday too.

I wanted to thank those of you who are giving honest open feedback about Shopster. You are on the bleeding edge during this beta development phase and your suggestions will help to shape this program to make it better. Plus you have a unique opportunity to take some ownership and have the features added that you need to make it work.

Thanks for your support and suggestions! Keep them coming.

Hi Linda! Good to hear you had a great Christmas. My brother in law has just had a kid so i'm now an uncle...Feels kind of odd...

Psyclones: Right now Shopster operates using two currencies. Obviously the all-mighty US dollar, and the Canadian dollar. We will offer pricing in other currencies soon. The Pound Sterling is at the top of the list.

You'll still be able to sell to people in the UK. They'll just be charged in US dollars...

    James:

When can we expect the categories being updated/imporved (adding more) and also the ability to bulk add items. Im really really interested in setting up shopster but I feel as though it will be useless to me until these two features are in place.

Thanks for keeping everyone updated :)

yes. They host the store. You can then buy a domain name or use the subdomain they provide for you
