Shopping cart product needed

    Hello folks,

New guy here! I recently purchased a company that also has an on-line store. They were using MAL's for the shopping cart, but they wound up canceling the account to stop orders from coming in during the sale (not the brightest move ever, but it's done). My short term plan had been to simply take over the MAL's account until I could do more research, but now my hand is forced.

I don't want a cart provider that requires me to "build" store on their platform, rather I want a simple click to buy from products on my website, that will put them into a shopping basket and then allow the customer to continue shopping or check out.

Seems pretty straight forward, but there are SO many choices and it's tough to wade through all the propaganda on the provider websites to find out what I need.

I need it to be able to calculate weight based shipping costs to zip codes, as my products are pretty heavy and I can just factor in "free" (ha ha) shipping.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi Marleywood, Welcome to DP :)
How many products in total the website have?
PrestaShop is widely used shopping cart, you may plan to use this ahead.

Easily done with wordpress and woo commerce. Literally just a few hours of work.

OpenCart is also a great alternative; it has a very clean look.

There are a little less that 100 products at the moment.

    Marley,

I would recommend OpenCart with a theme from Themeforest. It's the fastest and easiest way to have an online store that is independent of a platform.
