Can you recommend a shopping card plugin for my wordpress blog? It needs
    • digital goods delivery
    • paypal processing

I have seen a few but looking for recommendations.

    Thanks

I think wp-ecommerce is your best bet. Historically speaking I could not even get the stuff to work. However, I have it running now on some stuff I am just wrapping up and it actually works like a champ and has alot more features now like attribute sets, downloadble stuff. etc.

    http://www.instinct.co.nz/e-commerce/

that said, I would likely suggest working backwards just for version related issues. There is no need to tie user data and logins from wordpress to an e-commerce solution. Just keep the blog in the root if need be and stick Magento or Prestashop in /shop I typically try to keep the ecommerce stuff as the home page and call some things from the blog onto the homepage. It depends on what you are selling and a few other things.

    hope that helps.

I'd have to second that suggestion. I used it back when it was in it's old stages, but haven't tried the updated version. I hope to use it in the future, but there's a chance I might become a Joomla user...

Nice link Tankard. I seem to recall Rich Pedley from GAWDS? If so, those folks take code very seriously.

I use the MK3 theme for one of my sites, very easy to integrate and has a plug in that helps manage products. Theme can be found at: http://www.markettheme.com/ my site (not complete yet) that uses the theme & associated plugin can be seen at shop (dot) westsidesantacruz (dot) org

Yes, that's the same Rich Pedley and he has went from strength to strength. He has done a custom project for me - this was the first time I didn't get headache working together with someone. Highly recommended!

I have used wp-e-comerce which has been up-dated in the past few days(~31/08/09). Nice, installs easy, user friendly. I am going to try eshop assuming it can use PayPal. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for the list, that helped me out a lot. I was looking at eShop cuz of this thread, but now I'm looking at wp e-commerce and it looks better I think, more customizable at least IMO.

If you are selling less than 20 products, go with eShop. It's more basic and the user experience is better. If you have more than 20 go with WP eCommerce although I think Wordpress has a long way to go in eCommerce.

But you asked specifically for a Paypal/download cart. Either will do the trick.
