Shopping cart for ebooks

I am setting up a shopping cart with a friend. The store will be selling ebooks that need to be autosent to the buyer. My friend believes 1shoppingcart is the best for this. I was thinking of other solutions such as cubecart v4. He thinks it has everything but I mentioned it is monthly and they host and do everything. Are shopping carts like this good? Are there any other shopping carts that are better than these two? We have the money for most any.

    Hi Perrier,

If you don't mind using an Open Source Shopping cart. I recommend that you take a look at Zen Cart. I have setup my own eBooks Resale Rights website at http://www.ebooks-resale-rights.com. The best things is you have nothing to pay for it...It's FREE...:)

I am using Paypal.com as my payment gateway. The configuration need some time to setup and once you have establish the site, it will run in autopilot. Almost no maintenance needed since all the transaction will be done automatically. Hope it help...

I'm not sure which cart you are referring to when you say "they host and do everything." Do you mean they'll host your files for download, or are you thinking that one of these two carts hosts your entire site? For CubeCart you need an existing site with a host that supports PHP/MySQL. For 1ShoppingCart I don't know if there are requirements for the type of host you have, but you need a host. 1ShoppingCart is a cart, not a host - you connect the cart to your existing site.

Maybe you already knew all that, but I just wanted to make it clear...

Yes, we can. Simply visit www.1ShopWebSites.com for details. 1ShopWebSites is our Web Services Department and handles all our domain name registration, web site hosting and other web site related services.

Actually, I need this as well.

If you have some good tips, or recommendations. Please shoot me a PM. I've been looking for a while, and still have not found one I like that is nice and easy both on admin, and customer side(s).

    Thanks in advance.

thedigitalstreet , do you know if you could limit sales with zen cart?

Like, if you were selling PLR article packs and you wanted to limit them to like 40 sales each.

I'm surprised nobody ever recommends bundled services. If you go with a whole automated ebusiness system it's a heck of a lot cheaper in the long run than getting stuff "a la carte". PM me for more info.

    Hi vertigoflow,

Yes, you could set the total number of limit for each particular products and also limit the number of downloads.

    For e.g.

If you only allow 10 copies for Product 1. Then, after you reach the 10 customer, the product will come out with status "Sold Out".

To limit the number of downloads per customer, you can simple enter the number of downloads for each particular product. If you enter 5 download for product 1, then, the customer can downloads and re-download for the same product 5 times only. Otherwise, the download link will disappear. Hope it help...:)
