Hello! I am very new to the world of ecommerce. I work as a PA/social media manager for a small business that sells their products and services online. I have been asked to find an "Econtent shopping cart autoresponder" that responds to the merchant (not just the buyer/customer). Essentially this autoresponder would be sending them (the merchant) a receipt of what exactly a customer has purchased so that the merchant does actually have to physically go into their contacts and fulfill the order. I have also been asked to make sure that the autoresponder send out informational packets/newsletters when requested by customers. I am having a hard time understanding what exactly what I need to find/do in order to complete this task successfully. Actually, I'm completely clueless. No idea where to even begin. Any help would be so greatly appreciated! Many thanks, ~Gabriella
I am not aware of a shopping cart system that doesn't do this out of the box. What e commerce solution are they using? Nigel
Hi Nigel, thank you thank you for the quick response. Unfortunately, I am clueless to the point that I don't know what e commerce solution they are using. It was my job just to find "a shopping cart that will deliver Econtent after payment." Both on the buyer and the merchant's sides. Should I be looking for something more specific? Again, like I said, I'm totally clueless here, but I'm just trying my best to learn/understand this new-to-me information. Thanks for you help, ~Gabriella
Well, I typically use Magento for instance. http://magento.com/ Its the fastest way to an enterprise level solution for free. When folks place an order both the customer and the client receive an email with the order details. Follow up emails with various data is fairly easy as well but may require a mod of some sort. Newsletters are already built in and can integrate with great third party systems like Mailchimp which is a pleasure to use. It sounds to me you can use a range of things, Opencart, Woo Commerce with wordpress, Prestashop and so on. It really depends on the brand and what you are selling. hope that helps, Nigel
Oh, Magento! Yes, I know that my boss is very familiar with that shopping cart/system/software. Thanks so much for the tips, you saved me a lot of time and plenty of confusion. I am very appreciative. ~g
Sure thing. Happy to help. It also does a wide range of other very useful things and you can grab a few marketing related commercial mods like rewards points and so on. Nigel
