I know someone that makes more than that through Google AdSense. It is all about sending huge amounts of traffic to high paying ads.

It is interesting that shoemoney doesn't use adsense on his sites anymore. I wonder if that is a direct result of him posting that adsense check photo.

Look at his site. He has permission from Google to not only show his check but an exact screen shot of the clicks he got each day.

The check is real. Jeremy has a few different high traffic websites and this was a time in which Adsense was paying out a lot higher per click. He explains on his blog how he did it with a combination or viral marketing, arbitrage, etc. The check is real and was over a 3 month period when he earned this but either way that is still huge earnings. He doesn't use Adsense anymore because he can make more off of affiliate and direct advertising.

It is real and can be easily calculated.
I know that shoemoney is really one of the early bird of SEO and made really amazing things in MSN years ago. So such check is possible for 1 month but with really hard work and good ideas. And this man have all of them.
