How are they easy to catch? How would you know if a webmaster and an editor had contact and made a transaction? If a webmaster has a decent site and it got listed, how would you know if there was cash involved?

I think DMOZ would have to go out and pose as a listing purchaser to catch an editor. If the editor is adding proxy sites to a Luxembourgian theosophy category you could catch them but if they were listing sites in the right place, how would they be caught?

Julian has an obsession with trailer parks and welfare too... I wish he would just leave me alone and go away.

Back on topic, did DMOZ ever make any official comment to Shoe's blog?

I don't think they make public comment but an editor red tagged it internally and some further details are supplied by Shawn Collins on his blog.

Is there an official source for DMOZ commenting? Every time I see an editor post that other editors disagree with people start to say "that wasn't the real editor" which really gets kind of lame after a while.

    Thank you for the link..

Not a real editor, yet the site was indeed "edited" when the terrorist demands were not met..

Sounds a bit fishy to me.

    Hey,
I work for CNN, newadvent.org, and wikipedia and I got an email from some editor saying my sites will be delisted if I don't pay $5000 (and make a pilgramage to some place where a little girl though she saw Mary). I don't want my 250,000 sites removed so i just paid them.

    Signed,
    Busy webmaster

Now you are scaring people. The big bad AOL lawyers are planning to take legal actions. Is this before AOL going to bankruptcy or after and how much they plan to pay for damages after they lose? This is what usually happens when AOL lawyers get involved, isn't it? :D

LOL. Is this the same way that you were claiming to handle things in this forum. All DMOZ claims about honesty is nothing but a joke since it is very easy to stop the corruption if they decide to do so but then we all know that DMOZ will lose at least 90% of it's senior editors if they do so. :D

Hang on a mo Julian. The question was asked if there was an official response. This is as far as I know the only public response from AOL/DMOZ. I am not sure why you are getting all pissy with me.

The authenticity of Robjones' post was in question, so I wonder if that was truly from Bob Keating or just some random troll.

Here you go, here's you big chance, Julian ,why don't you write to Bob Keating detailing all of the high level abuse that you have evidence on. If it is true he is the one person who can do something about it. He can wipe out admins and metas with a single click of the mouse. And he would with if they were even half as abusive as you say then are. Go on Julian here is your big change to show once an for all you are not a sniveling coward after all.

Sorry gworld, but he doesn't look at your porn sites.

Your claim to be an editall puts you in that category and if it were true that you were then I can believe we have a lot of corruption.

That sort of blindness is irreversible, so be careful looking at all that porn.
Why am I trying to scare anyone, if you read, I know you have difficulties but try hard, what I wrote, well to save you looking iy up with your bad eyesight here it is
