during april e-bay had an issue with revenue tracking so for a about a week they were unable to track your earnings. After ebay came back with the correct numbers it was credited on the last day of the month.

So are the shoemoney ads dead now? My site went dead as a result of the shoemoney ad server being down? Can we expect the same of auctionads in the future? Where else can I inquire about this given that the shoemoney forum has been shut down?

    Thanx.

An email notification would have been nice... One of my sales reps was closing a deal on three new dedicated servers today.. Meanwhile our web site would not load... Lovely...

Perhaps you have diffuclty reading English.... I know, it happens. It's a global internet. Forum is shut down... no notification... Ad shutdown, no notification. In the past, there were notifications.

What are you so confused about?

I think Jeremy has a point here. The code wasn't like AdSense where you check stats. It's something you put up and forget.

I'm not sure if your constant sarcasm is a source of condescension, but it's a bit over the top. I'm sure you are a brilliant guy and I'm all for putting somebody in there place when they deserve it, but I don't think it was necessary here. From experience, I know Jeremy's a nice guy and an even better businessman.

Considering shoemoneyads was always free, it isn't unreasonable for it to be closed down. But giving a heads up--apart from a blog post--does make sense.

My 2 cents: leave the PR to Shoemoney if you can't be more sensible in addressing problems and concerns.

I thought we did actually email out everyone... I know we posted about it on my personal blog and also in the forums (before they shut down).

btw take it easy on ddn he is a coder and more focused on answering questions/solving problems then debating on forums. He has not been exposed to the political areas of dp yet ;)

I just tested AuctionAds and I am not sure what is up with website the past couple of days but I think either their tracking system is very delayed or its not tallying up properly.

When I log in to the account, "The Week's Stats" says I earnt $13.42 but when looking at the my generated stats report for the week, it shows that I have my clicks but no revenue earnt?

Can you please clarify this Shoe? I've had this problem for about a week now.

Not sure exactly what you are referring to best always to use the contact and email support with your id and someone can look into it.

This week stats actually uses mon-sunday not the last 7 days this would also include the bonus that was given out on the 30th of april.

In that case, something is wrong indeed, because in this weeks stats, I see I made $1.52 yet I have made only $0.32 if I go to report and look at what I earned since 4/30.

I think ddn has my user id. :p

Hmm, that's quite confusing. I will email your support team about it.

AuctionAds is an innovative platform but if the reporting/tracking system doesn't work and is inconsistent with what another part of the website is saying, I can't continue with it since I will only be second guessing what I am earning (something which I am very uncomfortable with). Thanks.

I'm going to look into this. I'm afraid all the code we had to graft in because of eBay's mess threw everything off kilter.

I can tell you that the amount you see in the snapshot on the account home page is the "more accurate" number. That said, there shouldn't be a difference, and I'm going to look into it.

So here's what happened. On 4/30 you got a commission for $13.42. This went into the commissions table and you got paid for it. The snapshot gets data from that table. Now, since this transaction didn't actually get grabbed from eBay until 5/1, the stats were no longer updated after April had passed. We obviously don't update old stats. Since the stats didn't get updated, that transaction never got credited into the stats table, and you couldn't see it on a report.

I assume the same thing with pmwall's account, but since I've run the stats for April now it should correct.

The stats engine is far from perfect, but the complexity we're dealing with is unbelievable. Hopefully we can keep squashing bugs as people find them. The eBay thing was certainly unexpected.

Thanks for looking into the issue ddn, the stats/report table are indeed now showing up to correspond with the account homepage revenue.

However are you saying that since AA don't update old stats, the last week of every month's revenue will not be tallied in the stats/reports' table? I would still need to figure out which channels were making the revenue even in the last week of every month.

I'm not sure where you came up with the last week.

This was a result of not updating the last DAY of the month on 5/1 after the last transactions were received, which won't happen next month.

We've been with the Auction ads program for a couple of weeks now, and we too are having a really hard time getting any use out of the reports. The only day showing any revenue whatsoever is April 30th. We're aware of the CJ/ebay reporting problems, but there has to be more to the reporting problems than this.

We've been using the CJ affiliate program prior to signing up with Auction ads, and even with extremely low exposure of the links, we've been seeing a steady revenue of a dollar or two a day.

Our CTR is ~ 1.50, which we feel is pretty good, and our site consists of hardcore ebayers in the automotive business. This should give us a great potential to succeed with Auction ads, but either the the reports or the Auction ads system itself has serious issues.

We would love to continue using Auction ads, since this is potentially THE most appealing affiliate program for our site. That being said, we need to confirm that the system is actually working for us, and we can't do that without decent report functionality
