Ok thanks.. I totally missed that post.... interesting concept. I am not sure what to say.... so I'll just be on my way, thank you for the info.
I've wondered that too, actually. Also the number of referrals in "This week's stats". Is that really just for the week, or total? If the week, where can you see the total?
can you tell me some? inless your a PR 7 site with thousands of visitors, this isn't worth it to the avg webmaster with only a few hundred uniques a day.
thats kind of like asking if any advertising is worth it... Some of our biggest earners have small traffic sites that focus on high dollar reviews of products... like watches... or anything niche related. To be honest I don't think we have 1 pr7 site out of all of our publishers... I have never had one myself. It more depends on your website content then anything else. If you have a site that is MFA (made for ads) then most likely AuctionAds will not be the right product since it is CPA based and not CPC.
You are correct shoemoney, I have a niche site that is running auctionads and it is working fine. I am making just as much if not more than I was using adsense and other similar type programs. If you have a good niche site, auctionads is a great way to bring in some extra cash.
We would never reveal AA users's sites. There are people in this thread that are doing great revenue, ask them. I'm really baffled as to how you think you need to be a pr7 to generate some revenue.
High dollar niche can rake in the money with it... It still blows me away what all people buy on ebay.. cars high dollar items to .10 pieces of paper just an awesome market and Auctionads.com make it easy to get it going on your site.
you also look around on this thread and you see people making 10 cents for every 500 clicks.. True you could increase your odds with targeted niches but still the odds of your visitors winning an auction arn't in your favor. You would have to receive high amounts of traffic and clicks to have a nice % chance of one of those clicks turning into a sale.
Cars, cars, and more cars, from pickups to die-casts from the movie Cars. I have absolutely no words that are connected with cars, yet I keep getting them. Checking another web page with different keywords, it's cuddly toys. Would I be better selecting a fixed, manual set of keywords?
Actually, from visiting other sites that use AuctionAds and my experiences with it, the "default" type ads that are served (guess if current keyword is not in cache) are: Cars, Purses, Cuddly Toys, PS3/Wii, Ipod ShoeMoney, Can you verify we are allowed to use negative keywords as in my post on Page 15 of this thread?
Hi Shoemoney - OK, here goes one - I've been experimenting with the keywords a bit, but repeated reloads shows mostly cars. http://whatjapanthinks.com/2007/02/22/japanese-cats-at-their-cutest/ The keywords I am passing in are: kw=japan_anime_manga_kitty_cat_goo_ranking_silly I would hope to get manga, anime and Hello Kitty stuff as my main KW, and the rest of the keywords are from the specific post's tags.
I believe your keyword should be something like: kw=anime;manga;hello kitty If you put the keywords in the format above and refresh after say 30 seconds, does it show more relevant ads?
If you want to succeed in the CPA game, or any other IM venture, you need to test and see what works for YOUR site. The this vs. that debate is pointless considered the variables. Remember that while you argue about the best in general, another webmaster is testing and earning. Good luck, Ty
Tried that, and now on another page with the word "infoplant" I am getting industrial plant searches. I suspect not many of my readers are planning on spending $10K on an industrial shovel. I think I'll go back to the simpler search you mention above, and perhaps put the ads inline in posts so I can manually target. tkroll: good point - we could spend all day going backwards and forwards on the subtle ins-and-outs of AuctionAds, or I could just give up and find something that works for now!
