Are Paypal's fees 4%? That's the difference in the amount I was sent via paypal and the amount in the report total for March.

You were sent less the reporting indicated because there were fraudulent actions on your account. We'll be looking into your account.

And what exactly is a fraudulent action? Someone bid and won an auction when they shouldn't have?

This is what I got so far since march 15th
    12074 impressions, 175 clicks, CTR:1.45, total: $6.31

The income seems to be from one day. Are you guys working on more detailed stats? I would like to now things like which add brought the buyer in and what he bought.

    Cheers

I'm getting well over 100 clicks per day but virtually no revenue. Stats so far: 100,000 imps, 1700 clicks, $6.

Seems my website visitors like to look but not buy. It's probably not going to work out for me. But it might be good for sites where visitors are in the buying mood.

    This Week's Stats
    Earnings: $12.15
    Impressions:15181
    Clicks: 135

Again starting to see some money coming in.

But I agree that it would be great to see some more detail. It's not very clear whether the revenue shows on the day that someone clicked the ad, or the day the auction ended? I assume the latter, which is confusing.

Are you working on more detailed stats?

Oh sorry, I was just posting sensationalist misinformation like you did over on WF.

How as it misinformation? It is true there is purposefully obfuscated javascript in the AuctionAds ad script. It is true that it captures search engine keywords from the referral and sends them to AuctionAds. I posted the two possible reasons: 1. To further target the ad or 2. to build a keyword database. I don't see any misinformation there. There are no options in AuctionAds to use the extra targetting feature of that javascript. Why would I just assume that is what it is for and not for something else? Why does posting that I found obfuscated javascript and revealing what it does make me a sensationalist misinformer?

I am probably not your favorite poster. That's fine, it's your right. You can search my posts on here and WF and I don't talk bad about you or AuctionAds. I've even posted about how great AA works for targetted traffic. But am I just blindly going to drink the AA koolaid? No, I don't know you or Shoe personally and there is some information missing that makes me not completely at ease and I'm not alone in that. You can read the posts here and at WF and see that people are concerned that they don't have access to stats like auction wins, leads, what tier everyone is on, etc. How do we really know we are benefiting more from the group than alone? Those are valid concerns when small-timers like us put AA in our ad spots.

Anyway, this is the only post on this topic I will make. You can feel free to respond and if you want my reply I'll do so via PM. Consider this my public apology to you and anyone else at AuctionAds for giving you the impression I was attacking you. It was not my intention. I humbly apologize.

Actually, that is patently completely untrue. If you had actually read the code (or used Live Headers) instead of blindly spouting accusations, you'd have seen that the keywords are not even sent to the server. Unless we've invented some magic data transfer system that obfuscates that too.

As far as detailed stats go, you can use CJ if thats what you really want. If you don't trust an affiliate program, don't use it. We've had a miniscule number of people ask for more detailed stats. Most people are refreshed by the fact that all they have to worry about is a nice round dollar amount. You don't see statistics down to the ad with AdSense do you? Anyone who has struggled with CJ reporting should be able to agree that our method is superior. Adding more detailed reporting and stats is absolutely the lowest priority we have.

One more thing - No one should blindly drink any affiliate kool-aid. If it makes more money for you, run it. If it doesn't, don't. Knowing which gears are turning behind the scenes doesn't change the end result. We don't expect anyone to run AA who isn't making more money with it. Fortunately, there are a LOT of people making a LOT more money than they were with whatever they ran before.

Haha, but the code is there. That's like finding a function in microsoft windows called sendPasswordsToNSA(passwords) but having microsoft's response being that the code is not actually used. It is still there.

Edit - ok I was wrong. SERP referer isn't sent on the load of show_ads.js. In any case, the code has been commented out since AA was shoemoneyads. Not only is the code commented out, but the keywords are reset to empty. Like I said before, your statement about our code sending your keywords is completely false.

    Stop trolling, its gotten old.

Here is the way I understand it. The ads are on my site. If my site calls your ad server, the referral string will have my site in it, not the search engines. Even called in an iframe, the referral is my site. The only way to get the referral string that lead to my site is with Javascript. If I am wrong please post code that will get the search engine referrer from a 3rd site. I honestly would like to know how.

Also, calling me names isn't helping anything. I am not calling you names. Why can't we just discuss this?

Edit: Okay, you're right too. I should have said COULD send keywords, not implied it does. I am not familiar with shoemoneyads and that probably didn't help either. Like I said, it's like finding the sendPasswords function and panicking, even if the passwords function isn't being used. However, my discussing of the code being there is not trolling.

After two weeks my results are less than steller. I'd be willing to give it more time but the AA site has been down so much it causes my forum to hang-up. I've pulled the ads for now... maybe I'll give it another look at a later date.

    Not really! :p

    Anyway...

-we have between 7,000 and 156,000 page views per day.
    -our CTR is low 0.74% - 1.77% (50 click to 2600 clicks)

We aren't going to retire yet... but it's a nice little extra bit of income.

Who was implying that AA is not trusted just by asking for more detailed stats? The way you talk, it is you that has something to hide by not even considering this request. Okay, a 'miniscule' number of requests - but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be useful to a lot more people.

And frankly, despite you launching a great product, your attitude needs a bit of realignment if you are going to succeed in business.

I'm just responding to that. More detailed reporting isn't something we feel would be a value-add.

    I am loving this!

I am running it on 3 pages only across 2 sites and I have had a pretty good run so far. I was paid promptly for March.

    My March stats were
    266528 2365 0.89 $18.12
And this was for only 1/2 the month

But, I have already exceeded that this month...
    43023 550 1.28 $35.28

I just hope to get a few more $30+ days during the month
