One of my sites I have been working on is only about 4 weeks old. I was just tweaking some things on it and just for the heck of it I did a pagerank check. I still have a lot I will be doing to it, but it is showing as a PR3. ytdub.com Surprising good start!
your site contains a virus. detected by avast. had to abort connection. better fix that before Google gives you a "This site my harm your computer."
I agree that pagerank updates have an ego-busting power, but I think I have to refer to my usual mantra: toolbar pagerank is mostly fun to observe, but not more than that.
Well done. Don't rest on your laurels though. Keep building links in case the PR goes away shortly. These kind of PR values for new sites can sometimes disappear very easily.
Congrats dude, PR have been updated last week though Keep up the good work, and maybe you should start to focus more on SERP's instead of PR !!
Way to go W3bmaster !!!. PR3 is definitely not worth 00. This guy can potentially earn $50 to $80 / month from text-link-ads or such programs.
Too true, there is defineitly a value to page rank but in my experience people looking to put links on sites look at other factors before they look at pagerank. Relevence of domain name, age of site and the authority and quality external links are all, in my view, as important aa pagerank
It looks like you got some good links from your other site which is a PR4 (site-wide). Grats, keep up good links and you can make some $$
The PR update is becoming more and more weird. The more you want to know the algo behind it, the more you will get confused. So stay away from it
Sometimes the PR jumps for the new websites could be temporary game plays of the Google data centers and after a while a PR zero might be seen.
@everyone-Thanks for the positives and the negatives always serve the purpose of inspiring to do more also. Pagerank is one of the factors that is important to sites. For some reason it feels good to go from PR0 to PR3 than PR3 to PRO. Also there will be people who consider the higher the PR the more a site is worth along with other factors. @sappcomglobal Even though I have a link from my PR4 site to this site I made it "nofollow" . Still working on the serps (a process that takes time and commitment). The algo is hard to figure but that's what trying many things by many trials and errors helps out. Who knows it may be a temp thing for the new site but then maybe not, time will tell. Even though the algos change and are hard to figure G usually rewards sites with good content, fresh content, good links, good seo, uniqueness and many other positive factors. Hopefully the above inspires some newbies and also prepares them for the many diverse opinions they will receive, when any comments are submitted whether positive or negative.
