I totally agree with your statement, and that's why I suggest to have a website and a blog on a subdomain. Explosive recipe.

As for your stats, you can go to http://sitemeter.com (simple stats), or you can get Google Analytics (it's what I use now)

Keep working. A normal conversion for clickbank product, if the sales page is good is 1%. With good pre-selling, this can go up tp way more.

Download my step-by-step clickbank case study, this will help you with your efforts:

--> How A Complet Newbie Made His First Clickbank Commission Without Spending A Dime.

Follow this plan, and let me know when you need help.

I can't wait to see your first sale!

    Thanks Franck.

No sales yet, I'm now averaging 70 hops a day but they are spread over 6 products that are related. Two of which are getting the bulk of it at around 20 a piece. I will focus on those two and see what happens.

    Just a quick update.

    No sales yet.

I get an average of about 40 hops a day. My landing pages I did some work on it so hopefully it will lead to that elusive 1st sale soon :)

I'm still adding an article a day to my blog and also to ezine. And yes I'm still in page 1 with the original blog and 2 of my article also made it to page 1 for two good lomgtail KWs.

I think my landing pages need more work and I'm reading up on that.

cheapo...I always target non competitive keywords using keywordtracker as well. However the same thing always happens...when first indexed by google it will rank at about 5-10 on the first page, then a few days later will drift to page 2-3, then 1-2 weeks later will be on page 2 for a while...then once google does an update it will rank 1-3, which can sometimes take several months. Im talking about fresh domains though..I would assume it would be the same/similar for a blog.

    Hi Brinked,

I cannot speak for websites, but the system I'm using is basically just using blogs. And contrary to what you and others have said my blog actually improved in rankings.

And what I am finding out from reading the forum here is that blogs generally do better quicker than a website. Wordpress seems to be doing better for me as well.

If it is a long tail keywords and the main keywords is not main or popular keywords it is not impossible for you to rank 1st. but make sure you got some useful stat quick. can't you put google analytic on that blog. at least you know with what keyword they land on your page and what time they leave.

    Hi,

Yes I am. I actually moved up 2 spots. I'm now on page one for the same KW with and without quotes.

So far 400 hops (various products) no sales

1 of the products has 110 hops.

How many hops per product before I should dump it?

    WOOHOO

I got my first commision sale :)

It was not from a CB product but from a commision junction product. I think I will switch my efforts to CJ.

I have 400 hops in CB in two weeks spread over 6 products. No sale.

I have six clicks in CJ and now have 1 sale?!!!

I do think that the traffic to my CJ link is better targeted. The traffic is search engine traffic.

    WooHoooo

    Now I got my 1st CB commision sale. :) :) :D

After 2 week and 125 hops(for the vendor I made the sale)

480 hops in total accross all vendors I am promoting.

From what I have seen so far I think it is better for me to focus on commision junction.

If you find it that easy why don't you rank for a couple of decent searched long term keywords and get more traffic then you would with one..

Yeah, this is part of the new state of natural site optimization. If you've got ANY decent PR, you can now get long tail targeted content to the homepage of Google in a few hours. Sometimes it sticks. Sometimes it doesn't. I've been doing a few experiments, and did it with the terms:

    driving traffic for less
    get web hits

Pretty much, anything I write these days pretty reliably has this effect.

you could be no1 if you have less competitive keyword. but is there any traffic?

Yes, that's a large part of the point. There already is traffic to your site on those terms. It just needs to be optimized to get you onto the first page of results. Rinse and repeat. These smaller word combo's usually collectively account for 80% of a site's traffic. This is often a rude awakening for our users.

If that was a long tail keyword then that means less competitors and possible that you reach the number 1 ranking.
