Normal news, try search again with that keyword in next week, you'll see nothing!

I also experienced something like this, not for big keywords, but for keywords where my site just jumps to the top.

 

Thats natural if your keyword is a non competitive one...And Google always make it on the first for a short time but it will disappear soon....

 

I checked it again and the position is not changed since yesterday. a few more hops, no sales yet.

BTW I followed the advice of a guide I saw here.

It's easy to get high in SERP if your keyword is less competitive...especially if you are searching a specific keyword like the whole title of your post...

I'm trying to duplicate this on several blogs and see what happens.

The keyword phrase is a three word phrase.

I do not have a landing page but the vendor I'm promoting seems to have a very good landing page. He claims 12% conversion. We will see...

 

BTDT, you need to evaluate what kind of "supply" there is for your long tail.

Some of my blog posts instantly rank in Google 10 minutes after they are published but they tend to usually drop and then again stabilize.

Thats how it usually works..

gaining traffic with just a ultra newly published site that exists for about an hour isn't like the thing that happens in the SERP...gaining traffic definitely needs time especially when it is freshly made.

 

Just a quick update

Altogether 25 hops no sales...(from the first site)

I created another blog with a more competitive longtail KW. 25,000 competitors for that KW.

I only got page 2 ...


I see if I can tweak it some more. sweetfunny has some great advise on this forum on longtail KW. I just read it.

So, did you actually look how many visitors come from that keyword? You would be surprised how inaccurate these tools are....

 

No. Thats the only problem. the free blog does not have any traffic stats, I just hooked in a hittail widget that's supposed to give me that info.

The number of hops is all I have so far to judge it by.

 

Try searching without the "quotes" How often do you use them yourself?
I think you might find you are not on page one if you don't use them for your search.
And I assume that the traffic stats were for the key-phrase without quotes right? With quotes around it the search volume will be MUCH less.

I see how you could rank so well so shortly, seeing how it's not a very competitive keyword. What I don't get is how your website got indexed in 10 minutes :-z

Since yesterday I had 5 more hops... no sales.

Someone suggested I try the keyword without quotes yesterday. Without quotes I'm on page 2 with quotes Im still on page 1 actually moved up 1 spot.

The second blog I started with a more competitive KW is on page 2 with one of the pages not the main page though.

I think the thing I learned is that your website or blog has to be relevant, consistent in terms of keywords with your site title AND your site URL.

This is just my guess so don't take it as gospel, but that is how my blog is structured.

I messed up on installing that hittail widget so i will redo that today.
