I've had no problems with blogger, but maybe you should try weebly instead. I have a blog with them too, and I like it very much.

sometimes it is really beyond our control....although I know they normally won't simply shut blog down without any good reason. I have friends who are using blogger for over 4 years and it is still up and running today..

Anyway, self-hosted is still the way to go for me.

I think it's not the problem with content. Probably there are too many referral links or too many banners, that's why it's considered spam.

That's what you get for running a blog on a free service that has the full ability to decide your fate, instead of buying a domain name and hosting Wordpress.

Yes you must be very careful not to place your eggs in a basket you do not control so to speak. By all means use blogger and wordpress but stick to quality content and the risk of your blog being deleted is minimised. Get some cheap hosting and install wordpress to take control of your blog.

Don't use blogger - use wordpress. Better still buy a domain name and get a host with cpanel and upload wordpress and the site is yours. Domains are like the real estate of the internet

Paid blogging is always better than free blogging. Get yourself a hosting account and you're free to publish whatever you want.

I've been making over $1,200 a year (2.5 years) with Blogger + Adsense on a single CMS blog, I have never wrote a single text blog post (all legit downloads).

All you guys that keep preaching the Wordpress non-sense are paying hosting, etc...

My blogs are 100% profit, are your Wordpress blogs all profit (I don't think so)?

I'm never worried about my Blog being shut down by blogger, I have all my subscribers email address, so If I ever need to move my blog (won't happen) I'll fire off a single email to all my subscribers.

All my xml post + templates are on backup, just upload to another free blog...

Good to hear that. BUt as an wordpress fan i can really say easily, if you might had chosen wordpress it would have been more easier for you to make that money. also The revenue of adsense can be easily more then your earnings with blogger.
I am also an chartered accountant in india so profit is only my motive.

A person making $1200 earnings per year is good with 100% profits
    OR

Some dumb Like me that pays for hosting like $200 per year and makes $36000 per annum are fools.Right

$1200/year is a spit in the ocean... and big whoop, $7/mo for a Hostgator account or $500/year for a VPS really isn't a big expense.

The point of the matter is that they have the power to shut your blog down for any reason they see fit. Even when you least expect it.

That sounds great for you, but $1200 a year would put me in the poor house, that wouldn't even cover what I spend on themes.

I can't even make it on $1200 a month, so I guess for those of us that want to make money, we don't mind spending a little.

$100 a month is not really a big success, but you can rest assured in the fact that you do it without spending any money...pure profit...good for you.....but to us, $100 a month is not really making any money either.

Oh yeah and I actually own my websites.
There is something to be said for actually working for yourself and having actual ownership of assets, and not just a few links plopped all over the web.
