Shelled and shot at and forced to run for their lives — leaving homes, family members

VLADIKAVKAZ, Russia — Refugees from South Ossetia on Sunday described being shelled and shot at and forced to run for their lives — leaving homes, family members and most of what they had behind. ..

Marina Dudayeva, a woman in her early 20s, fled from Tskhinvali wearing only her bed clothes and a pair of plastic slippers. On Sunday she found herself at a leafy, run-down summer camp near Alagir in the Russian region of North Ossetia, just across the border from South Ossetia.

The residents of both regions are ethnic Ossetians, and have close family and cultural ties.

Dudayeva said she doesn't know what happened to relatives she left behind, including her 19-year-old brother.

"We can't contact them," she said, standing with her arms folded across her chest.

Many who fled still appeared to be in shock.

"The Georgians burned all of our homes," said one elderly woman, as she sat on a bench under a tree with three other white-haired survivors.

She seemed confused by the conflict. "The Georgians say it is their land," she said. "Where is our land, then? We don't know."

You still support Saakashvili and Georgia's agression on Osetya?

I suggest Russian journalists document and make a movie about Georgia's crimes against humanity in S. Ossetia.

"He always talked of the Georgians as 'our brothers,'" she said. "But now he doesn't say that any more."

Many Ossetians say they believe the United States supported Georgia's use of military force to try to restore Georgian rule in South Ossetia.

Following the Georgian assault on Tskhinvali, Kulumbegova said she expects many South Ossetians who once might have agreed to reunification with Georgia to oppose the idea. More, she predicted, will support unification with Russia................

If Bush has a part in this war, he surely bears responsibility for the deaths and sufferings of so many people.

Russia started this war? Everything I read states the opposite, still not seeing the 'for oil' stance either.

Appears to me they rushed into the situation under emergency conditions, causing them to lose far more men/equipment than they would of had they had the time to build up for months and plan, bombing from long range, etc.

its the USA that is trying to get control over the pipeline using the puppet republic of georgia as an excuse...russians seem to need to fight over control of their own oil because the USA says so LOL...sure the USA will claim that russia needs to split up in to 160 countries and then the USA can rule the little countries and steal their oil but russia is not some defenseless 3rd world US target so this time the oil goes to its owners...bummer eh?...if the USA is so hell bent on forming/supporting new countries maybe it should split itself in to 50 new ones? then absolutely everybody will be independent and then US foreign policy wont sound so hypocritical?

I heard somewhere Russia made an air raid bombing something in Georgia and some Georgian policemen were killed, that caused the Georgian reaction.

    Can anyone confirm it?

This photo is fake one just like clickbank/cj/adsense checks on this forum. There are also a lot more photos, about 10, I've seen them all.

Why building is not damaged at all , I mean only doors and windows absent, that's not how it is when bombing is going on ? Also where are lot of dead people around this buildings ? Where are cars , at least one close to that building ?

Btw this photo(s) 3 days old. I've seen them 1st time August 8. And yes - I've seen this building in photos on 8th of August 2008.

It is sad that many civilians will pay the price for a war started by the Georgian war criminal Saakashvili.

We should always protect the victims, not the agressors. Or we risk being just like Bush, Israel, EU (ruled by US) and etc. who are by default right.

The world failed to unite behind the victims, moreover the west is giving protection to the war criminal Saakasvhili.
This is not right if we want to live in a fair and good world.

I don't need to give you anything, that's for first. for second I already pointed very tricky questions which you probably don't read just asking for additonal info.

More tricky question - where is photos of Tshinvali if this is photo of Gori ?

P.S. Think about my questions and take a closer look to photo, it's very quality, with right sunshine and so on. To make such one take a lots time and preparations. Doesn't look like they have taken in a war rush.
