Is it true that the volume of content (number of content) always ensure success of a blog? If your blog has thousands of articles you will get more visits. How reliable is this? I'm running a tech blog by the name of www.Detechter.com and I want an insight.
No it's a total myth. You can publish 1,000,000 articles to your site but if no one knows about them you'll not receive any traffic. If they are 1 million badly written articles few people will want to read them anyway. Focus on epic quality posts that people will love to read, share and link to THEN get that content in front of your target audience.
Very true but these days everybody tweet and post links. Plus articles are average. I was wondering if higher volume meant higher chances of Google search hits.
The key question here is who wants to be known for having the largest number of crappy articles on his website? Even if you got a ton of traffic initially, it wouldn't convert to sales, because people resent being lured to a website that offers nothing but very badly written content. Posting one or two high quality articles per week that people will enjoy reading is a much wiser long-term strategy than just posting anything at all to grab Google's attention.
Quantity doesn't make a Quality site. If it's a personal blog then 5-7 articles per week is most probably a 'normal and real' figure in Googles eyes. Even for a corporate website about 3 per day max unless it's a news site then you still need to make Quality articles that catch people's eyes yet aren't boring to read.
Mine is a Tech blog with other bits like humor, pictures and news thrown in. Currently I am getting 200 hits even if I don't post for weeks. If I push my articles in social media and spend hours writing just one article I get upto 1500 hits. I have around 150 articles in my site. Am I doing ok? www.detechter.com
The quantity won't bring success. High quality and unique articles will bring you success. Also consistency is important. Some popular blogs only post 1 or 2 quality articles a week but they do it on a consistent basis. They post 1 or 2 every single week.
Quality ALWAYS trumps quantity! Write articles that help people...articles that educate and entertain. If you're writing articles that have value, it will not only help the reader but they will share it. Word of mouth is awesome advertising as long as the word being spread is good. It's said that a happy customer will tell 10 people but an unhappy customer will tell 100. Concentrate on helping people and the money will be a byproduct of that.
