HOLY COW....thats the busiest toolbar i've EVER seen........ how many windows do you need at once???..looks harder to nav than my desktop !! Good Job !!! Respect ! GEM
You makin fun of my windows, mister? :O Pretty tame today. Each one has a purpose. Each browser open has at least 4 tabs open on it. My ultraedit has 30 text files open; and dreamweaver has 18 open. 2 mail programs. Don't need the third today. Unfortunately; I wouldn't know how to act with just one browser and one mail program open. The horror!
Heh, and my site is at the bottom of that screen shot for ebay registration. I'm gunnin for ya shawn! Actually, it was more of a test to see how well the coop would actually work. No other links to that page except coop links.
Wow, now this would be in SEO challenge! Can anyone beat Position of 10? I'm up for it if you guys are!
Actually, I'd like to know just how much weight Shawn has on the network. I see a hell of a lot of ads for his various sites. Given their frequency and distribution, I'd speculate he has 7-10% of the total network weight. The good thing about ebay (and cc's) is theme becomes virtually irrellevant, they can apply/relate to almost anything. In other words, (IMHO) it just comes down to sheer volume of linkage. If you've got it, you might as well use it What is your weight Shawn - how much are you throwing at this thing (if you don't mind me asking) ?
I have roughly 4% of the network weight... about half of that as base weight from my sites and about half of it from referrals. I have a lot of links beyond the coop network for my sites though, so don't think it's *all* because off the coop.
Hah ! You certainly do have a good presence on the network - although i didn't realize you had added links from elsewhere.. I like the ebay idea. A little research shows some interesting prospects too - you know I only just read a post in another thread where you posted a rates table - $10 per registration. That's damn good nosh. What's more, I'm not even registered with ebay. I couldn't be bothered until now. I gotta commend you on timing here Shawn.. damn you have the luck sometimes Anyhow - I'm wondering how long you've had that page up.. it looks like (contrary to my original thoughts) you've been at it for several months now. Did you encounter any delays (sandboxing for want of a better term) or did it climb slowly ? And of course the biggie, the page looks like a cursory consideration, the JS being a nice touch. If I'm not wrong, that page is a real earner. Care to share a few figures ? (not money wise, just how many registrations you see in a 24 hour period average with your current rank) - you may not be comfortable sharing info like this - but worth the ask Cheers, JL
The page has been around for more than a year, long before the ad network was even an idea. Registrations figures are not bad... hard to gauge exactly because it's a 30 day cookie and it's been on the first page for "ebay" for less than 3 weeks. The page itself is a little more advanced than it looks also. It actually does some geotargetting based on the country you are in (for example if you are in the UK it will give you a link for the UK eBay).
If shawn was not a programmer he could definately be a english politician: John Loch question - Care to share a few figures ? Shawn - Registrations figures are not bad... hard to gauge exactly because it's a 30 day cookie and it's been on the first page for "ebay" for less than 3 weeks. lol
Yep, I'm not surprised either - hence the caption "you may not be comfortable sharing" etc. You would make a good politician tho Shawn, your response was evasive, disclosed all but the useful info, all the while engaging enough to encourage further involvement.. this is a trait of politicians the world over Anyhow, I liked the idea. I've slapped a little something together (in the wee hours when the senses (ad or otherwise) had evapourated with the last of my Fosters.) At the very least it should generate a little extra weight for me in Jan. I'll go back to it in a month and see how it's doin Cheers, JL
Is CJ the only outfit that Ebay works through, because these guys make you log in about 10 times to get anything done on their crappy site. Is that who you go through Shawn because someone told me on this forum that you could get Ebay somewhere else also.
CJ is the only way to get an eBay affiliate program. There used to be two (I think it was CJ and Bfree), but they merged.
Summer the following is quoted from Will Spencers quote in the thread "CJ versus Linkshare" Ebay isn't CJ and Be Free only. EBay also supports MediaPlex.
MediaPlex is (Im fairly certain) the parent company of Commission Junction (which manages affiliate and search marketing), ValueClick Media (which does web, email, and PPC marketing), etc. BFast was the other company that merged w/ CJ and began offering some other services through CJ because of that merger.
Value Click is the parent company of CJ and Befree or Bfast or whatever they call themselves now. I think they would be smart to consolidate all of that crap into one decent interface and end all the BS. I had to log in about 10 times today over and over just to add or delete a website. These guys shoot themselves in the foot more each time you visit them. I will get to the bottom of this MediaPlex crap or maybe someone like Spencer will clear up his statement. PS: Here is your answer Snitch Baby http://mediaplex.com/about.shtml#overview
