I also dropped from 29k down to a few hundred. This is despite seeing an increase in pages across all the datacenters using McDar.net

The only thing is, if it affects everyone, your "power" in the program would remain the same as although you are losing weight, you still have the same relative to others (Obviously doesn't apply if you drop to 0)

I probably am one of the few people that didn't lose weight, I actually gained a little, now I am afraid that I may googlebowl my sites since I don't have a clue of how much weight is too much right now, especially for a new site.

That's only true if everyone is affected equally. And that does NOT appear to be the case. Some sites have been hit hard, others only a little, and still others have actually increased the number of indexed pages, with little rhyme or reason.

It's a problem for everyone, including the Coop.

I agree with you on the surface but how can you say they haven't been affected equally. Certainly its accepted that peoples Coop weight changes nearly daily and the fact that a few sites haven't changed a whole lot could mean they went up but it wasn't visible because they stayed the same due to the Google issue.

I would love if all 3 SE's were used to get a more consistent weight but its not as easy as turning on a switch. For instance there are limitations on the Yahoo API (as we know from the keyword tracker).

My weight only dropped last week on most of my sites with one only dropping when it revalidated 2 days ago. Maybe some of these "unchanged" just haven't validated.

I had 60k when I posted that and now I have about 40k, however I removed a site from the coop with about 15k of weight.

I got two sites that went from a few hundred to 3,600 of weight. Another site hasn't been touched by this and has stayed at 25,000. One site finally droped from 60,000 to 32,000, while another site that went from nothing to 23,600, and most of my other sites are under 100.

Any one who thinks all sites have been effected the same and all droped, are on crack. It may be most sites that have droped, but not all sites.

Shawn says 'weight is relative, not absolute' aka, if you go from having for example 10% of the weight in the co-op to 30%, from most people losing there weight but an ad only using about 15% less weight, you won't get more impressions even though most people don't leave the co-op and provide way more impressions on there site than there weight gives there own ads, and

won't occure. Oh, wait, it just did!!!! :D It's just pure coincidence that over four months, this occured at this time and was just lucky to get the 1 in 1337 odds of geting the ads on a site that gets tons of impressions. Yah, sure!!!!

Exactly! (I can't believe I'm agreeing with Nintendo! ACK!! Now I'm even typing like Nintendo!!! ACK!! ACK!! ACK!!!)

I don't know why there's such a rush to deny this. No one is blaming the Coop or Shawn for what Google is doing. But let's at least acknowledge that it does present a problem of inequity for Coop members. How can it NOT be a problem?

No one is denying that the weights have been shuffled around...

Generally, it's an issue Google has acknowledged and is working on.

But to be honest, I think the reallocation of co-op weight (as it is now) generally is a good thing. Overall, it seems (to me) that the high quality sites are being rewarded, and the low-quality sites are being penalized. That opinion of course is subjective, so... {shrug} It's just my personal observation of a tiny fraction of the ad network sites I've looked at.

In the end, it's not like any impressions disappeared from the coop, they have just been reallocated.

Once Google "fixes" their issues, it should be back to the old way... but I'm still not 100% sure that's a good thing, but whatever... :)

By "denying" I am referring to the myth that all Coop sites were equally affected, all sites lost Coop weight equally, and therefore that no Coop members are suffering differentially as a result. That has been repeated in several places at DP, including by Summer, who indicated that she confirmed that with you.

I'm relieved to finally see a formal acknowledgment that the uniformity myth is just that: a myth.

I'm starting to think that coop is starting to suck...
All my sites i pointed some weight to were deindexed, some even completely banned!
Similar sites without weight though are still in google :)

Check the links in ur newest PM. You'll notice it has nothing to do with the co-op.
