Hey, Shawn, I know you don't visit the weight questions board much so I am posting here since I would like to see your feedback. As you know, something is happening with Google's index and most of us, if not all, have lost almost all our pages, and also our coop weight. I have heard some comments saying that since everyone has lost their weight and is showing amount like 6 or 7... this means that even with this drastic loss our impressions will still continue to be the same. Is that correct? Please comment about this... I thought this google glitch would be over in a couple of days like it has before, but nothing seems to be changing and sites that were showing a weight of 30k now show 6. Thanks
Fryman ... i got hit particularly hard ... went from 156K in march to 5xx (indexed pages) this morning ... I check about 1/2 hour ago and I'm up to 129k indexed so you may see an up swing shortly. About your question ... it is a very good one. Basically the way I see it is as more and more sites and pages on those sites get dropped the inventory available also decreases. I would assume that the coop is relative ... so your assumptions may be correct. Those who still maintain a fairly decent weight will need to either cap down or discharge the weight some how or you may find yourself bowling your sites. hope this helps
I went from around 536,966 of weight down to around 110,000. One site some how suddenly had about 300,000 URLs indexed and got 60,465 of that weight, while I got I think just one site that hasn't been touched by the re-valiadating, and has about 25,000 of weight, and a few sites are waiting for there next auto-valiadating when they'll probably be joing the other sites...with there weight crashed.
i'm getting more confirmations that the indexed pages are climbing back up Fryman/Nino ... just got confirmation from sites hosted in denmark... seeing some nice gains ... with numbers similar to those in Feb 2006.
I've still got only 77 weight... down from 4.4k :/ been that way for a few days and won't go back up. Looks like G deindexed all the pages except for the homepage on the two sites I was showing co-op on.
google is not indexing pages once it has dropped. Lets see when does G reindex again and then hopefully we all will get our weight back
I am still showing over 10,000 pages in google, and 5800 on the DP rank checker, yet my weight is still below 150. Does the coop use one certain datacenter that I may not be seeing results from, or does it check randomly. I am a little confused at this point. I was figuring maybe there was some sort of structure change once again to the weighting system until I seen this thread.
I have many referrals in one of my accounts, and I can see I am getting 0 referral weight from them, so I guess this is still happening to everyone
Being new to coop seeing all these threads makes me feel better about only getting to a weight of 28. At least now I can imagine that before the update it would have been thousands! lol.
I thought to ask this but expected bad , well same position here :sob: :sob: Base: 0 Consolidation: 0 Referrals: 14 Your Weight: 14 My weight was around 2000 - 2200
Google is working on this problem, see also here.. http://sitemaps.blogspot.com/2006/05/issues-with-site-operator-query.html I don't know if this site operator is connected to the way the co-op system uses to get the number of index pages, but Google is working on the problem.
