Shark attacks

I've been surfing for 4 years now, and I myself have only ever come accross a shark 3 times.

Once when I was around 14, I saw a shark swimming in the reef.

When I was 15 I saw a guy getting attacked by a shark and my dad helped him.

And yesterday at kingscliff I saw a man get taken by a shark from a distant but he has his mates there and I just read that he is safe in hospital and he should live.

Do sharks scare you, people say you have a very unlikely chance of getting taken by one, but I surf once every morning and it still seems like a big chance to me.

 

I dont do swimming so sharks are fine with me. If we were meant to be in the water we would have been born a fish!

 

I never came across a shark near coastal regions in my country perhaps we killed all the sharks already or we dont find sharks near our place.. lol.. I have seen some docs about sharks and I really love to see videos when shark attacks something and have its meal hehe.. but attacking humans kinda harsh for me though..

 

Wow, no sharks in your area?

All I'd honestly have to do is go swimming down a lake near my house that connects to the ocean, and I'm 110% sure if I looked in there properly I could see one.

yup no sharks or we find sharks which are kinda small which cannot harm humans that much.. we catch those kind of sharks and convert it in to delicious recipe!! , I personally love one of these recipes

Lol i myself am a chef, and I'm scared of making something like that.

Interesting though

 

just try once and you can repeat it again and again make it a business in your place.. lol.. offering shark recipes to people who visit the beach near your place..

Name it something like "Shark Hut" or "Shark Corner"

Plus you get more sharks in your place so something like this would be profitable I am sure

I'd say the chances of getting slurped by a shark are good if you are surfing say once every two weeks in an area that sharks do hangout.

Its kind of a eventually will happen type thing such as using a grider up and down. One day the disc will come off and it'll be heading towards your face.

 

I've never seen sharks.

 

In Sweden we dont have any sharks (Lucky us!) cause i hate them..

 

oh dam, thats sad to hear.. I am very scared of sharks even tho i have not seen on in open ocean

 

I really dont care for the ocean so im guessing im pretty safe

 

There is no ocean or sea in my country but I do think Sharks are very scary especially when you see its fin chasing you.

What do you mean there is no ocean, ocean surrounds everything doesnt it ?

 

I like to go look at the ocean but am too afraid to swim in it. They sell shark meat in the grocery stores around here and I mean to try it one day. I've seen guys using it for fish bait.

 

I wouldn't swim were there was any risk of a shark!

You are very brave to surf everyday, even tho you've personally witnessed 3 sharks!

I think U r really brave that after seeing sharks ur going again to surf

 

Well, its just like I'm a chef, ive witnessed my appretinces etc cut themselves accidently, and I've also cut myself before, however that wont stop me from doing what I love.

Surfing is something else I love doing, although theres a risk, theres a risk in many things these days
